25 Years later

The pod door opens and I fall straight out. Still a little stiff and frozen I moan an 'Ouch!' as I wake up. 'Morning Jarvis' I say with my voice slightly croaking. 'Glad to have you back Maria!' He responds.

I sit down for a moment, allowing myself to adjust before running- or in my case walking around. I feel a familiar hunger and walk to the lunch room. I grab the two extra blood bags and drink them before I think of anything else. Whilst drinking I sit in front of the window and look towards earth. I see the air completely clear, patches of green, vibrant blue and I feel so much better. I walk to the bridge, 'Hi Jarvis, can you scan the planet and show me the remains.

Jarvis does just that and shows me famous landmarks. London is just a trench, Big Ben is scattered around its base as well as parts of the London eye being flung to the Thames. I shiver whilst looking at New York, the avengers building is no more, half of the statue of liberty is missing. I turn it off and walk over to the separate station with all the data being arranged into chronological order I easily sift through it all. 'Jarvis?' I ask 'Yes, Maria?' He responds, 'How many blood bags are remaining, a full total?' 55 Bags remain. May I ask why?' ' I can survive on one blood bag a month minimum, although If I transform into a wolf or use my magic it means I'll need to refuel.' I say 'Maria I am not sure what you are on about.'

'Can you change my sleep cycle so I will only be in cryo for twenty four years instead?' I ask Jarvis. 'Are you sure Maria, this means you will be alone for one year before the others wake up. You can sleep in your family quarters during your time and by my calculations, there will be enough food, water, oxygen and resources to last for five years after the others wake up, even if you were to change your cycle.' Jarvis states. 'Does that mean I can do it?' I ask excitedly 'Yes, I will change your sleep cycle to twenty four years, allowing you twelve months, to do whatever you want.' Jarvis states.

I do my routine checks, transform into a wolf, wander around the station, wash, eat and listen to music before it is time to go.

Closing the door on my pod for the last time I close my eyes and smile.
