'Thanks dad' I say looking towards Tony who was looking out of the bay window looking at Earth.
'You know I never thought I'd live this long...well, long enough to see the planet destroyed.' Tony said gesturing to the ash covered planet. 'I would never have lived this long if it wasn't from you taking me in.' I say teary eyed staring at the planet too.
'You know, when me and Pepper saw you on our doorstep we didn't know what to think, we were trying and trying for a kid, but nothing. Then all of a sudden, as if by a miracle you were dropped on our doorstep. I would never have forgiven myself if I'd handed you over to some orphanage.' He says looking at me. Finding out about your DNA was a shock, I had no idea what I'd gotten myself into when I read the note you came with. I always wanted to work out the science behind everything but, with you I had to let whatever magic you had inside you grow and hope that you wouldn't kill us. He said laughing.
'Growing up I had no idea what was going on, I always thought I was broken, but after you letting me work with the rest of the team and even Steve and Buck, I learned and trained and well, I get my science side from you anyway' I say grinning.
'I still can't believe you beat me and graduated at 16 from MIT' Tony says pouting slightly and continues 'Although when you invented the water beads I sure as hell knew you were definitely a Stark.'
'All my work was all for nothing now, all the technology I've developed, using my magic as well as science was all going to war torn countries, hospitals, schools and now they are all destroyed and I have nothing to show for it' I say remorsefully.
'Sweetheart, everything you have ever done is still here' he says whilst walking through the incredible ship. 'I adapted the use of your water beads and just one can purify the carbon dioxide filters enough for 6 months of clean air. They work in the showers and toilet facilities and they can still be drunk from as normal' Tony picks up a small water ball, throws it in the air and catches it in his mouth before it becomes a liquid and he swallows it. 'Your advanced healing wrap I've duplicated and even adjusted to make healing patches, for on the go use and, don't forget your first robot!' He says excitedly picking up a small handheld robot which can interface with Jarvis and give him the ability to actually walk and talk.
'I loved making Jarvis a suit!' I laugh holding onto him.
We made our way back to the cryo sleep chamber and see everyone looking peaceful in their pods. 'And without you we wouldn't have been able to save our friends or family.' I walk over to Pepper and place my hand on the door, 'I'll miss you mom' I whisper. 'Time to get in Em,' Tony says. 'Remember the pod will only open for you once every 25 years. You just need to check the operating systems, run the usual diagnostics and change.' 'I know Dad, I will have 24 hours before I'll need to get back into my pod, so I promise I'll only drink the regulated amount of blood, focus on a few planet fixing spells and transform and back into a wolf... I've got it' I say determined to prove to him I can do it.
'Okay then, Em, time to go to sleep' He says sadly.
'You go first, just so I know your safe, I'll live 100 years but you won't, so let me' I say hurrying him to his pod. He kisses me on the forehead as he gets into the pod. 'See you soon Dad' I say, he nods as I shut the door, 'goodnight sweetheart' is all he says as I shut the door. The glass ices over and a peaceful look is left on his face.
I swiftly turn walking past all the pods, to make it to my own. I call out 'Jarvis?' 'Yes, miss Stark?' he responds, 'remember to wake me up in 25 years' I say, 'Don't worry Maria I won't forget, it is in my programming' He responds, ' I know Jarvis, goodnight' I say as I close the door, sealing myself in sleep.
