25 Years later
The pod door opens and I fall straight out. Still a little stiff and frozen I moan an 'Ouch!' as I wake up. 'Morning Jarvis' I say with my voice slightly croaking. 'Glad to have you back Maria!' He responds.
I sit up and feel my hunger again. I decide to walk to the lunch room. I notice the next cabinet open up. I grab only a few bags this time, hoping to save the others for later. As I drink the first couple of blood bags I look at the earth and notice it's change. 'Jarvis, am I seeing things or has the ash layer of the atmosphere dissipated?' I ask.
'You are correct Maria, the ash cloud dissipated ten years ago, earlier than expected, I believe you had a hand in the planets repair?' He asks. 'Yes, I tried and I think it's worked, maybe later I can try and fix it a little more?
'Anything else to update on?' I ask whilst walking onto the bridge, I look out of the large window, into space. 'Yes, Maria, the population on the arc, has remained a constant, I've scanned them on a regular basis and I have noticed one part of their arc contains more humans per square feet then any others. I have completed your scanning for the parts you will need to create your spy chip and located all the parts you will need. Level three work station room five has the utensils and equipment for the programming of the interface chip. I have already organised a delivery method to make the chip interface with the system.'
I sit in the captain's chair I asked for, sipping on the last blood bag. 'Thanks for doing most of the work, other than that how have you been?' I ask walking to work room five with the list on my iPad. 'Maria, I do not have the capability to feel, I can however say it was quite quiet and lonely without others to interact with.' 'Yeah, I understand Jarvis, I wish I could have engineered a friend for you before we got up here...' I say whilst focusing on my work.
I check the timer on the wall, '7 hours till sleep cycle reinitiated' I say to myself. Having worked on the device for the past 17 hours I finally finish it, I link up the proper software so that It can wirelessly transmit all the data onto a secure server that has been set aside for a similar use. I close off the network which means we will have an isolated interface to their computer systems without them being able to hack into our main frame on the off chance they are as intelligent. I drop the small arrowhead onto the desk and go to the far out bay. I use Hawkeye's precise bow and arrow set and locate the ship. The arrows speed will be great enough to attach itself to the hull. I look through the eyepiece and have Jarvis, update the scanner to account for the rotation so that I can hit it in the exact spot we need.
Without missing a beat I fire on Jarvis' call and its away. I put the bow back in its place, careful not to damage it or my head would be on a stick from Clint. I run back up to the bridge and have Jarvis locate the device. It takes twenty minutes before the arrow reaches the arc, and then another twenty minutes before it attaches itself into their database and relays all the information about the ship, including personnel files, private captain journal entries, radio conversations and all.
'Yes!' I grin and shout 'We did it Jarvis' I call out. I double check the time for my sleep and find that I have six hours remaining. I ask Jarvis to put all the data in chronological order so I can start at the beginning when I wake up from my next cycle.
I walk to the cage, take off all my clothes and relax into my wolf form. I pick up my clothes with my teeth and jog to the showers on Level two. I made sure that the showers would be useable in wolf form, just in case I wasn't in the mood to be human for a while.
I howl and the shower starts a nice warm 23 degrees. I turn back into a human and clean myself thoroughly; I grab the towel nearest to me and dry myself off. I decide after wrapping my hair in my towel to change clothes into something more comfy. I walk to the locker room just at the end of the hall from the showers, completely naked because it is not as if anyone will be able to see me. I open my locker with the combination '8, 18, 19, 97' I put in, my discovery day. I pull out a clean set of clothes from the rack. Black Joggers, grey crop long sleeve top and white fur lined slippers. I place my dirty clothes into the wash bin and within a few minutes they are washed and clean.
With the timer being displayed on every electronic board it is hard to forget how long I have left. I decide to take a walk back to the cage. I open it out, a fully glass reflective room, giving me the illusion that I am outside in space and I take out my phone and my earphones. Plugging myself into my phone I dance and sing until the timer hits ten minutes. I cover the room and make my way to my sleep pod, again. I do my usual routine and say goodnight to Jarvis.
I close over the door again and go to sleep.
