You always hated it when your boyfriend Paul was away on tour. That meant that there was less time to spend with him when he's not in the recording studio, or if he's writing songs with John. A few days ago, his band, the Beatles, had started their first tour in the U.S. He told you that they were doing a live performance on TV, and promised you that he would call you before he performed and after he performed.
You were busy reading a book when you heard the phone ring. " 'ello love. I miss you," the voice said. "Hi Paulie. I miss you too," you said. "Tell 'er that we're about to go on McCartney," a voice said in the background. "Shut up Lennon! Can't you see I'm on the phone," Paul said to John. "Was that John," you asked him while laughing. "Yeah," he said while laughing. "When will you be back," you asked him. "In a few days," he said. "Ringo I'm not givin' you any of me jellybabies," George yelled at Ringo. "Come on George! Sharing is caring," Ringo yelled back. "Well what if I don't care," George said. "Shut up you two! Can't you see that I'm on the phone," Paul yelled. "Sorry Paul," Ringo said. "Hurry up Paul! We're about to go on," John said. "I'm sorry Y/N. I have to go. The lads and I are about to go on. I'll call you as soon as we're done performin'," Paul said. "Okay. Bye Paulie. I love you," you said. "Bye love. I love you too," he said.
You headed into your living room and turned on your TV. Then, an announcer on the TV said, "Here's the Beatles." "The first song is for me girl Y/N. It's called All My Loving," Paul said. After they played a few more songs, you heard your phone ring again.
"Hi Y/N. Did you like the song," Paul asked you. "Of course she liked the song Paul. You did write it about 'er," John yelled. "John stop joinin' in on me conversation with Y/N! Why don't you go see what George and Ringo are up too," Paul yelled back. "Fine! I'll go do that! You're a swine McCartney," John said. "If you lose them, I'll cripple you," Paul said. "Sure you will James," John said. "DON'T CALL ME JAMES," Paul yelled. "Whatever," John said while laughing.
"Sorry about that love. John can be a child sometimes," Paul said while laughing. "Yeah. I know," you said. "Well did you enjoy the song," he asked. "I loved it. It was funny when they had the camera on John, and the caption read 'Sorry girls, he's married.' Did he do that," you said. "Yeah, he did. It was all his idea actually. I have to go. There's someone important I need see," he said. "Oh okay. Bye Paul. I love you," you said. "I love you too Y/N. Bye," he said. 'Who could be that important that he needs to see,' you thought.
Then, you heard a knock on the door and answered it.
" 'ello love," Paul said. "You said that you wouldn't be home for a few more days," you said while hugging him. "We actually filmed our performance two days before we left, and I found out when it was going to be shown on television so I could call you before it started and after it ended," he told you. "I only have one question for you James," you said. "You know I hate it when people call me James," he said. "I know," you said. "What was your question love," he asked. "Did you call me while you were on the plane," you said. "Yeah," he said.
Then, he picked you up, laid you down on the couch, and covered the both of you with a blanket. You moved closer to him, laid your head on his chest, and said, "I'm glad you're back. I really missed you." "I'm glad I'm back too. I like spendin' time with the lads, but I love spendin' time with you even more," he told you. "I love you Paul," you said. "I love you too Y/N," he said before lifting your head and placing a soft kiss on your lips.
A few minutes later, you fell asleep listening to his steady heartbeat. You were glad to have Paul home again.
