Your eyes flickered as you woke up from the sound of screaming. You were startled at first, until you realized the sound was coming from the movie you were watching. The dark colours from the television barely provided any light so you on the switch of a small desk light just in arm's reach.

"Hey!" You heard a familiar voice say from beside you. "You're ruining the atmosphere, it's supposed to be spooky, [your name]!"

You chuckled in response, "Sorry Nathan, I guess I dozed off for a bit and forgot we were watching a movie together." Your finger flicked the switch back off, and sat facing forward towards the television. Your vision couldn't help but move towards Nathan, when you realized something.

You both were at each end of the couch, not making any sort of contact. At all. He was actually squished up against the side as if there were 5 more people sitting between us.

You scooter over slightly, Nathan didn't seem to notice at all. You kept your eyes on the movie. A knife just plunged into a mans heart. Yikes. Nathan must have picked this time. As you moved a bit closer once again you could see him stiffening up.

Finally you were right next to him and you rested your head on top of his shoulder. He wasn't breathing. You lifted your head up.

"Hey, what's wrong?" You asked, genuine concern coming out with your tone. He gave you an uncomfortable look.

"Listen. I love you and all, but," he took a pause, "I hate cuddling." He looked at you with fear in how you would react.

You just laughed in response, and he looked confused. "There's no need to worry, I'm fine with you being uncomfortable! It's not a requirement for us to cuddle. As long as you don't want to, we won't cuddle." You smiled at him and he sighed in relief.

"Phew. I was worried since you always want to cuddle with me. Thanks for being so understanding."

It was the next month, when you woke up with a terrible cold. Nathan had skipped the entire day of school just to stay and take care of you. Typical Nathan, making you blush and feel all sappy inside.

After what seemed like seconds of laughing and talking with Nathan, nighttime rolled around. You decided you would get an early sleep, but Nathan refused to leave you alone — so now he would have to sleep with you.

You offered to sleep on your couch, but he denied your request and he took the couch.

Finally, it was morning, and that meant it was now Saturday. You woke up to the sun shining and the birds chirping, and Nathan's arm wrapped around y— wait? Nathan's arm?

"Nathan? I thought you were on the couch." He surprisingly sat up with no bed head like he usually has. (If you don't know what that is it's basically messy hair after you wake up.)

"I- um- uh," he had a hard time finding the right words. His hand was still intertwined with your own. You looked into his blue eyes with worry.

"Was the couch too uncomfortable? I could have gotten you sick! You should have let me sleep on the couch instead!"

"No, no.. it's not that.." He rubbed the backside of his neck awkwardly.

"Then, what is it?"

"You know how, every time we sleep in the same room, we end up hugging each other when we sleep? I missed that. I guess I'm saying that I missed.. your cuddles?"
