Chapter 15 - The Wounded Hylotl

Septinium Hideout, Harobed Muster II

The others widened their eyes as they heard this. Ethyl looks down as Raena covered her mouth.

Ethyl sighs then lays back down. "Cap'n...?" Milli tilts her head, looking over to him.

"Now I feel like just going on that mission was a waste a time..." He takes off his visor and places it on the table next to the couch. "If only I knew it was there."

"Wait, what planet is it?" Raena looks at Milli.

"Vixarius Formation II." Milli replied.

"One of the biggest star systems out there." Ethyl raised a finger up. "And where Septinium was born."

He sat up and got off the couch. "Let's rest for today. We will be leaving for Vixarius tomorrow morning." He takes the visor and looks over to Milli. "You okay?"

Milli nods. "Mhm, just having some flashbacks."

Ethyl pats her shoulder as he goes back to the ship. Raena looks over to Ethyl, raising her eyebrow.

"Where's he going?" Raena asked.

"To his room I guessss." Sineeda replied.

"The armory?"

"No, Ethyl hasss a bedroom. He doesn't sleep with a bunch of weapons around his walls."

"Then... How come I've never seen it?"

"He usually keepsss it hidden, ssso that new crew membersss couldn't go in." Sineeda put the tray on the sink. "Only Milli has gone inssside, I haven't."

Raena looks down, having the temptation of finding that hidden room.

So later night while the sthe others were sleeping, Raena looks all over the ship for Ethyl's hidden room. She quietly opens Milli's room to see the wounded female hylotl, Asukinai, then widens her eyes as she backs out.

"Jeez, where is it?" She leans on the wall next to the door, but then she realized she leaned on something different.

She raises her eyebrows as she taps the wall she leaned on, after the wall adjacent to it. "This wall... doesn't sound right."

"Hey." Raena hears a voice behind her, then sees Ethyl. 

"E-Ethyl!" She gets startled and jumps.

"You still up?" Ethyl was holding the visor on his hand, and his coat on his shoulder.

"Y-Yeah, I was just checking on the hylotl." Raena scratches her chin, slightly blushing.

"I see... By the way, does she look familiar to you?"

"No, why do you ask?"

Ethyl scratches the back of his head. "Well... We found something in her bag, when she told us to fetch it for her."

"What is it?" Raena tilts her head, wondering what it was.

"It was a matter manipulator, a red one." Ethyl replied.

She widens her eyes. "She must be a survivor of the Red District of the Terrene...."

"In Tokyo?"

"Yeah."

"I see..."

They both look away for a bit, causing an awkward silence.

"Well, I'll go to bed..." Raena blushes as she walks past Ethyl. "Goodnight, captain!"

Ethyl sighs. "Calling me 'captain' doesn't really suit you." He chuckles.

"Captain~" Raena replies by sticking out her tongue and winking. She goes inside her room and locks the door.
