Chapter 16 - Asukinai

Septinium's Ship, Harobed Muster II's orbit

After Asukinai found out she has been alone in the planet for almost two months, Raena filled her in with what happened to Earth and what she has been through during the past months with the Septinium crew while they were in the dining room drinking tea. Asukinai calmed down, then started to feel more comfortable around the crew members... except for Sineeda however.

"I still can't believe it..." Asukinai looked down on her drink. "I've been hiding and running for two months..."

"I guess the time went fast for whichever planet you were in." Ethyl shrugged with his arm crossed.

"I suppose so..." she sighs and opens her bag, shuffling the stuff inside to find something.

"At least luck came your way..." Raena sets her teacup down on the table and frowns.  "If Ethyl and Milli didn't have an assigned mission on the camp, something worse must've happened to you."

Asukinai looks down at her tea. "If I had been there longer they would have killed me... or decided to go back to Plan A..."

"Plan A?" Raena tilted her head, wondering what it was.

Asukinai looked hesitant to reply. "I really don't want to have to explain but... a certain type of slavery."

"I volunteer to explain further~!" Aizo stood up and cheerfully said, smirking and raising her hand.

"Don't corrupt the innocent, Aizo!!" Milli shakes Aizo, begging her not to explain the 'certain type of slavery'. 

Raena blinked a few times, then blushed, realizing what it was she meant. Ethyl tried to hold in a laugh because of her reaction.

"Judging from how I saw cannibalsss back then, they would have continued with Plan A..." Sineeda thought.

Asukinai slouches more over the table and looks over at Sineeda from the corner of her eye, still very concerned. Sineeda tilts his head, wondering why she looks at him in that concerned matter.

Asukinai breaks eye contact with him, then looks up to the rest of the crew. "T-Thank you very, very much for helping me... I couldn't have made it out alive without your help."

"Nooo problem!" Milli nodded.

Ethyl puts his hands behind the back of his head."Now it's your choice if you want us to drop you off in the Outpost where the other evacuates are, or you join the crew. Your decision."

"Pretty straight forward..." Raena looks back at him.

"I... I think I'd like to be here for a little while at least." Asukinai attempts to turn around and look at him.

"I said that when I was first here, but I ended up staying." Milli plays with the teaspoon in the cup of tea. "The same thing happened to Raena!"

Raena blushes. "I wonder why~" Aizo smirked at her.

Asukinai finds what she's looking for in the bag and takes it out, then looks at Raena. "Do you remember anything about Glitches from your district?"

"Yes why?" Raena looks back at Asukinai.

"This is my friend from the Red District." She shows her the plastic ziplock with a drive. "At least.. his memory and personality are stored here. I want to try and get him back. Do you know how I can do that?"

"A Glitch's memory drive..." Ethyl got off the wall, interested in the drive.

Raena examines the drive. "Amazing... You saved the last part of him!"
