Sasha's POV

"I hope he doesn't kill him" I said with my fingers crossed.

When we decided to get back to the palace to tell Dexter about Elizabeth and her long lost mate, Julian turned into a very hostile and rude being. For some reason, he hates Big G way too much. Elizabeth tried to tell him that whatever happened was just a result of passing time. Everybody acted according to circumstances and he cannot blame anybody.

"Oh! Of course, I can" He eyed Big G like he intends to slit his throat that very moment.

"It is a bad idea to leave them in the same car" Elizabeth told from behind us.

Julian proposed the sudden idea to travel alone with Big G. He asked Elizabeth and me to go along with Luc while he will follow behind in his vehicle. And that is a very suspicious request. We had no other way but to agree. Big G too took Julian's side. He said if his 'nephew' intends to travel alone with him, there is nothing we guys should be worrying about. He deserves to know his uncle better and clear any doubts in his head.

"He won't kill him. Not until the King meets Big G"

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yes, he is a royal guest."

I noticed Lucifer's discomfort. Both Julian ad Lucifer took the news harshly. I am happy that Elizabeth got her mate back. But I cannot say the same about the boys. They hate Big G. Period.

I fetched my phone from the pocket and messaged Luc.

*Why are you so...anxious?*

His phone beeped and he pulled it out with one hand while the other stayed on the wheel. He frowned looking at the message but did not turn to look at me. We both were aware that Elizabeth had her eyes on us.

He typed something into his phone and my phone vibrated. I made sure I changed the settings so that Elizabeth doesn't find out about our silent interaction.

*I don't trust him. Neither does Julian. Every new person who enters our lives now is a possible suspect*

*He is not that bad. I spoke to him and he didn't seem like a threat,*

*uhmm-hmm*

What does that reply even mean?

Uhmm-hmm?

We drove in silence. My mind kept wandering, considering different aspects. The rain of fire balls. We still do not know the source though we know it is the hunters' conspiracy. That amount of energy can only be harbored by group of witches. If Emily was the last one in the clan, did the hunters manage to gather the progeny of the witches from different parts of the world? Where does that leave us? We have no army, no plan and absolutely no insight as to what should be done next.

The worst part is that the wards protecting the kingdom were broken from the inside. The prophecy has been screaming at us that the enemy lies inside. But how do we find out who it might be? I am not surprised that Julian and Lucifer are uncertain about Big G. However, I have a feeling it can't be him. If we are placing our bets on Big G, we are going to lose badly.

The biggest worry that was clouding my mind was the incident that happened the previous night. I did not tell anyone about it. I didn't know how to explain to them.

I was going to climb into my bed and call it a night when I heard the voices again.

"You told me I can trust you!" The shrill voice of the young girl sounded desperate.

"You shouldn't believe people quickly. A very bad trait for someone like you" The man spoke harshly.

"Someone like me? Love has no 'someone like me's'. Don't do this. Please!"
