Tyron's POV
While I was driving, my cell phone suddenly rang. I reached it from the dashboard and immediately answered the call.
"Yes, hello?"
"Tyron anak, where are you? The wedding ceremony is about to begin."
"I'm on my way, mom. I'm currently driving."
"O siya, bilisan mo at malapit na raw dumating si Ann."
"Alright, mom." And I ended the call. Today is Ann's wedding.
--------
After the wedding ceremony, we went straight to the reception hall.
"Congratulations, Ann and Richo." They look good together.
"Thank you, bro."
"Thank you, Ty." I smiled in response and returned to the table where my son and my parents were sitting.
I was stunned as I watched the woman singing on stage. She has a lovely voice. I was surprised when she suddenly looked up and smiled at me. I merely smiled at her.
She reminds me of someone. I shook my head because I might just be seeing things.
"Leiren has a magnificent voice."
"I agree with you, hon. Remember, she was the one we were supposed to get as the singer at Tyron and Shavanna's wedding."
"Ohh, I see." My mother's voice suddenly became sad.
"How did you know her?" I shifted my gaze to my parents that currently busy talking.
"She is the daughter of your father's friend." Mom answered.
"I see."
"Why don't you invite her to join us, anak?"
"I barely know her, dad."
"Why don't you enjoy for a while, Tyron. Your dad was right. Huwag kang mag-alala kami na muna ang bahala kay Vitto." Mom's said and pointed my son who was busy playing on his phone.
I nodded and excused myself. I need some air. I know they are just trying to help me to move on, but how can I do that? It's not as easy as that. I went to the garden to catch up some air and relax. I sat down in the old chair. Everyone is having fun inside the hall, yet I'm sitting here alone.
After an hour, I decided to leave. I want to go somewhere where I can find my peace and calmness. After a few hours of driving, I finally got to the place I was going to.
I took a deep breath and sitted beside the grave.
"It's been four years since you left us, baby. I missed you so much. I want to be with you already. It's hard to wake up every day without you by my side. It's hard to live without you. I'm used to seeing and being with you all the time. It's still hard for me to accept that you're no longer with me, and you'll never return to me." Tears fell from my eyes again!
After all these years, I still keep on asking. Why you? Why not the others? I wiped my tears and touched Shavanna's grave. It still has the same effect on me every time I visit you. Why did you leave this world so fast, Van? You said we were going to get married and have kids. Who will I be with for the rest of my life? I'm really having a hard time now knowing that there is no one else like you. No one is better than you, and I will look for no one else because you are the only one I want to love until my last breath. I can't love anyone else if it's not you.
Suddenly a cold wind hit my body.
Is this you, baby? I can feel your hug. I hugged myself while sobbing. Damn, this is gay, but I don't care anymore. I need to vent out. I badly wanted to go back to when you were still with me, Van. I don't know how to start. If only I could go where you are right now but I still have something important left here. Especially, our son. Thank you for accepting my son as if he's also yours. I wiped the tears falling from my eyes, touched her grave one last time, and stood up to leave.
I took a deep breath while I walked away from Shavanna's grave. I need to be strong because I know she'll get mad if I stay like this forever. I looked again at Shavanna's grave before finally leaving.
"We'll see each other soon, wife. Could you hold a little longer for me? When that day finally comes, we will be able to continue our journey together."
-THE END-
