23 ~ guilty or not ? ⚡️

Jania's Pov

"I wanted her out. I didn't have any intentions on killing him at first". I said to the detectives.

"So then what? Who did it?".

I bit down on my lip. I didn't want to be a rat considering the fact that I know Danielle is telling Gee-do about this.

I cuffed my face in my hands. I felt tears stream down my face. "I didn't mean to do it". I said as I sobbed.

"Look. You're looking at 10 years, maybe parole. Tell me who did it so that family can rest". The detective spoke.

I took in a deep breath. "His name is Gee-do". I said as I sighed.

"How do you know him?".

"He had beef with Kentrell because he killed his best friend. You know, Marcus. Aaliyah's first Baby daddy. Well, I remember Kentrell told me to stay away from him because of what he did. Well, Danielle, she got me to set up this meeting so he could do it".

The detectives wrote away at their note pad. They nodded their heads then walked out. An officer came into the room & took me to a cell.

"You will remain here until tomorrow morning where court will proceed". He said.

I laid on the slab & closed my eyes. Hoping & wishing this was all a bad dream.

In court

"& why would you want to do this to a family?". Aaliyah's lawyer asked me.

I bit on my nails. I was really nervous. Last night they found Gee-do & Danielle. Gee-do admitted to doing it because he thought he would get a lighter sentence, but Danielle didn't. She kept her mouth shut. The whole time the lawyer was speaking to me, Daniele was eying me down.

"I didn't want to kill him. I didn't even want to kill Aaliyah. I just wanted her out of the picture".

"But why? Was it because she had a baby by Mr.Gaulden?".

"It's because I couldn't keep mine! Look, to both families, I'm so sorry". I said as I grabbed a tissue.

"You. Helped take a mans life. A father. A son. & a soon to be husband. A brother. All because of jealousy?".

I exhaled. Playing white my fingers & looking down. "Yes".

"No further questions your honor". The lawyer said as she walked back to her seat.

I was able to go back to my seat. I walked with my head down. My heart was just so heavy I couldn't deal.

Danielle was then called up to speak. 

"You swear to tell nothing but the truth?".

"Yea yea yea come on now, shit".

When she did this I heard the jury mumble things. It's looking bad on her right about now.

"Ms.Bregoli. Hi how are you". I heard a lawyer speak.

"I would be better if I wasn't in this dumb ass jumpsuit". She said. "& can y'all hurry up with this? I already said I didn't do it".

"I have phone records that say you called Mr.Murray 10:15 pm. Which is approximately 2 minutes before Mr.Gaulden was gunned down in front of his children & Fiancé".

"So?".

"Your honor, may I?". She said. He nodded & she began walking up to him. She handed him these papers then proceeded to talk. "After Mr.Gaulden was pronounced dead, she then tweeted 'Kentrell who? Lol, rip".

She gritted her teeth & looked to the side.

"That doesn't mean I had shit to do with his ass".

"So why tweet it? Not only that, right after the hit was done".

She looked over at me & gave me the deadliest stare.

"Mr.Murray already admitted to doing the crime. He already told the truth, about everything. So why lie under oath?".

I felt Aaliyah's eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. I didn't want to look because I almost ruined her life. Hell, I probably did already.

After what seemed like hours of discussion & heated arguments, we came to our final verdict.

"On the half of Aaliyah Watson, we find her not guilty". A man read. I seen her face light up as she looked up.

I sighed. Knowing I was about to hear my time.

"Gerald Murray guilty of first degree murder. Danielle Bregoli guilty first & second degree murder. Jania Jackson guilty of Manslaughter".

I heard people thanking god & clapping while I just stood there. Just a body, no mind & no soul. My body went numb as I realized I threw my life away.

"I sentence Jania Jackson to life in prison. Danielle Bregoli 12 years in prison possible chance of parole in 2031. Gerald Murray life in prison chance of parole in 2056". He said before he banged the gavel. I turned & looked at Aaliyah.

"I'm sorry". I said before a guard took me away. Danielle was cussing me out while being dragged away. While Gee-do seemed to be okay.

"I told you I was gone get him Aaliyah. You at peace now boo. This for Marcus". He said.

I seen her smile & nod before she hugged her lawyer. My heart started to beat faster. Why did she smile?

"You knew didn't you! You knew it". I screamed at Aaliyah before she rushed out. Tears began running down my face as I was taken to the back. "That bitch".

Aaliyah's Pov

A free woman at last! Gee-do a dumb ass for saying that out loud. I swear if the judge heard that & made court go in session again I would've kicked his ass. But yes, I knew he was going to kill Kentrell. But I didn't know Jania & Danielle put him up to it.

I hugged my kids & my family before I walked out to my car. I'm just glad that life going to be smooth now. No more Jania, No more Danielle & another baby on the way! Yea, I found out I was pregnant again.

"Off to our new home in Vegas babies". I said as I kissed Cam & Londyn on the head.
