It's not technically a date.

Ally paced back and forth nervously around her room.

She had called Beca to talk about it earlier, she kind of gave away the fact that she was feeling something for Emily but Beca chose not to push it knowing Ally would be the one to tell her when she was ready.

She was about to go on a date with Emily, well not a date but a lunch date which isn't the same so she shouldn't have to be this nervous.

"Get it together, Hills. Get it together." she breathed out.

"okay, I'm ready." She said as she grabbed her phone from the couch. Ally couldn't help to notice the younger girl fidgeting with her thumbs nervously.

Emily looked up at Ally as she smiled at her. "Am I okay?"

"You are more than okay, sucker." Ally said making Emily smile shyly at her.

They found a burrito place near the center and decided to have lunch there because burritos, why not?

"For real tho." Emily laughed hiding her face behind her hands.

Ally, who couldn't stop giggling either pushed the hands away from Emily's face. "Don't do that."

The girl let Ally gently move her hands away from her face. Her eyes adoringly scanning Ally's features.

After all, Ally was the one Emily felt more comfortable with since she moved out of Atlanta. They hadn't connected that easily when they began to live in the same house, you could Ally kind of intimidated Emily but now she was one of her favorite people.

"You know you actually have a pretty smile, right?" Ally asked. "I mean you have all your teeth in place and no cavities."

Emily tilted her head back letting out a laugh. "You are the only one who thinks that." She said rolling her eyes.

"And your mom." Ally continued to joke as she let her back hit the back of the chair.

"And Benji..." Emily trailed off without thinking it before saying it.

The other woman quirked an eyebrow as she took another bite from her burrito. Emily was looking down at her food, scrambling the wrapping and unscrambling it.

Fuck, she said to herself. "What happened with Benji?" Ally asked nonchalantly, avoiding Emily's stare.

It took a minute for Emily to look into Ally's eyes. "I just" The girl sighed.

Ally noticed the way the younger girl struggled to put it into words. "I feel like maybe it wasn't meant to be, you know? we were too different." Emily shrugged.

Ally nodded in understanding, but her mind was running at a mile per second. "But you were up to give it a try."

Emily nodded. "I guess."

Emily mentally slapped herself for blurting this out to Ally, she actually liked this girl and now she was feeling like she was annoying her with this Benji thing.

"Okay, I'm done." Ally said getting up from their seat with the wrapping in hand.

She offered a hand to the younger girl who was still in her seat.

"Let's go, Em." She said much for Emily's relief.

Hours earlier in Atlanta Beca and Chloe were laying in Beca's childhood bed the way they did when they used to when they came after school.

"I've always liked this song." Beca said  as she traced patterns with her finger tips over her girlfriend's arm.

Chloe smiled down at the girl laying on her chest as she reached over to her phone to turn the volume up.
