"Beca?"

The red head sat down on the bed next to her girlfriend.

"Baby." She said caressing her back. "It's time to go."

She wasn't asleep, how could she? When everything she saw every time she tried to close her eyes were memories, images of her mother, plans she had in mind to do with her but now useless.

Memorials aren't Beca's kind of thing, actually they aren't anybody's favorite things at all.

"I know Chlo, just give me a minute." Beca sighed, her voice weak.

Once the door was shut once again Beca breathed in, wrapping the sheets tighter around her. Her intention was to get up, get dressed and leave but her body wasn't allowing it.

It felt like every muscle weighed 238 pounds.

She then remembered the safety box her mother had told her about before going under the knife.

"Bec." Caren said. "If anything happ-"

"stop it." She remembered cutting her off, not wanting to think about that scenario.

"There's a safety box underneath my bed with some things I've been saving, the password is your birthdate."

Climbing off what used to be her mother's bed the brunette kneeled down and reached for the light green metal box.

"Jesus." She said under her breath as she held it in her hands.

The idea of this small box being the last thing she'd have of her mom brought new tears to her eyes.

Shaking her head, she put the box down once again and began to get dressed.

She didn't want to feel like that was the end, that green box was the end. The realization. Something that literally said 'your mom is not here anymore'.

Stacie and Aubrey picked them up from Beca's old house seeing that Beca wouldn't be able to drive her motorcycle.

Once they arrived after a short silent trip, Chloe and Aubrey got out of the car first leaving the two best friends alone for a bit.

"Are you ready?" Stacie asked looking at her friend from the mirror.

Beca had her elbow against the window holding her head. She looked at her friend and nodded.

Stacie turned around in her seat so she could face her best friend properly. "We have some minutes, take your time."

"Stace, it's fine." Beca said in a weak voice.

"You don't have to keep it together all the time." She said putting a comforting hand over her friend's knee. "Cry if you gotta, scream if you need to. Need to punch something? I'm here, I can take it."

A small smile formed on Beca's lips. She looked thankfully at her best friend.

"So I'm going to ask again before we go into that room full of people who will want to talk to you about Caren." She said, her face as serious and concerned as ever. "Do you need anything, Becs?"

Her lower lip began to shook uncontrollably, Beca looked away. "My mom."

Stacie's heart broke.

She changed seats and now was sitting at the back with Beca.

"Awe baby." Stacie said opening her arms, feeling Beca crash into her immediately.

"I can't go on without her." Beca sobbed. "I should've visited her more."
