Zayn was so close to uncovering his secret.

This thought shook Harry to his core. His cutting was nothing compared to this.

And he knew it was only a matter of time.

 ———————————————————————————-

“HAAAZZZAAA!”

Harry suddenly jolted awake and upright only to find himself face to face with his best friend, who had a pleased grin on his face.

It was moments like this that made Harry’s heart feel as though it would beat out of his chest.

“Harry, you have to get up we  leave in an hour, and I need you to make me breakfast!”

Louis had the sweetest grin on his face, and Harry couldn’t help but find himself smiling back at his older band mate.

“Okay Louis just give me a minute.” His voice was rough from just waking up and he could feel a sharp stinging on his arm from his new cut.

Louis went back downstairs and Harry proceeded to get dressed, being extra careful to arrange his bracelets in a way that would perfectly conceal his wound.

After Harry and Louis had eaten they made their way out of the apartment and down to the car that was waiting for them.

“Good morning sunshine!” Niall greeted at the top of his lungs.

Louis greeted the rest of the group while Zayn and Harry exchanged a few rather awkward glances.

However, things quickly returned to normal.

Louis was sitting next to Harry in the car, and the way Louis slung his legs over Harry made his heart flutter. He would give anything to just sit in that position for the rest of his life.

Stop. He will never love you like you love him.

Harry kept repeating these words. He made a note that he would have to punish himself for his earlier thoughts later.

The boys arrived at their destination where they were set to do another signing.

Harry used to enjoy interacting with the fans, but lately he had found these events extremely tedious.

His mind always felt elsewhere.

After the event was over the group decided that they would all go back to Harry and Louis’s place for dinner and a movie.

However, much to Harry’s dismay, Louis informed them that he had plans with Eleanor that night.

Harry tried to mask the disappointment on his face, the hurt he felt when Louis wasn’t by his side.

The thought of Louis loving someone else the way that Harry loved him, made him sick to his stomach.

It was times like these that the urges were the strongest.

Harry knew he needed to do it. He just needed a release. But when? Zayn was at his apartment. He would know something was up if he left for too long.

Harry went into the kitchen to fix dinner while the rest of the boys started a movie. He was the only one of the group who had any real talent in the kitchen.

He went into the kitchen and opened up a cabinet to get out necessary supplies.

That is when he saw the lighter.

It would be fast, and wouldn’t leave any blood to clean up.

Perfect.

Harry quickly pulled down his bracelets and held the flame to his skin.

Only one thing crossed his mind while he did so.

He will never love me. He will never love me like he loves Eleanor. I will never be good enough for him.

And just like that it was done.

Harry prepared the rest of the dinner and returned to eat it with the boys, acting as though nothing had even happened.

Just when it seemed as though things were getting better, Harry had returned straight back to his path of destruction.
