Balloons, check.
Cake, check.
The twins, check.
Food, check.
Jumper, check.
Decorations, check.
Brad, gone.
I scan through the list I made for the twins' party today. I check all of them off except Brad. He's with his band management right now, I don't know what they're talking about. I scramble around the house checking to see if all the decorations are up and they are. I go retrieve the birthday babies out of their crib since they're asleep, with it only being eight in the morning. Before I go to the room, in stopped at something on the table. Brad got up at five and I suppose he wrote a little note for me when I woke up saying:
I went with the guys to talk with management. I baked you cookies last night, peanut butter (your favorite of course), and they're waiting on the kitchen counter. Tell the twins I said happy birthday. I love you guys and I'll be back as soon as I can.

P.S. xoxoxoxoxo
I laugh at the amount of x's and o's Brad had included in the note. I walk over to the room and I take the twins out of their crib as they wake up. "Hey, babies, happy first birthday," I say as I kiss their heads. Chloe opens her eyes as she tries to put her fist in her mouth, drooling on it. I look over to Jonah and his eyes flutter open, revealing his brown eyes with green streaks in them.
His eyes are so beautiful. I look over to Chloe and see the same color brown and green mixture in her eyes. I get them dressed on the stationary table as I hear a knock at the door. I take the twins into the living room and lay them on the play mat, then turn on the TV and answer the door next. "Hey, sweetie!" mom says as she comes in with a gift bag in her hand. "Hey, mom," I greet with a hug and close the door. "It smells good in here," she says.
"Brad made me cookies last night."
"Well they smell delicious. I brought the twins their presents. Where do you want me to put it at?"
"By the table of food," I walk into the kitchen and grab the list.
"I'm going to read you these things on this list, and can you tell me if they're on the table or not?"
"Yeah."
"Two boxes of pizza?" I begin.
"Here."
"Cake?"
"Here."
"Bucket of ice with juices, sodas and waters?"
"Yep."
"Cheese puffs?"
"Yep."
"Okay, that's all."
I go outside to inflate the jumper that we got for the twins to play in. I come back inside as I see mom answering the door and Michelle coming inside. I greet her with a hug before she sets the kids' gift down. "Hi, babies! Happy birthday!" she tells the twins and they smile up at her.
The front door opens and Brad and the guys come inside. "Where's my babies at?!" Brad exclaims as he rushes through the house and sees them on the floor. He gets down and and kisses their cheeks. "I love you guys! Happy birthday!"
He stands up and sees me "Hey, babe, we're back," he kisses me on the cheek. "How's everything going?" he asks. "It's going good," I say then I hear a knock at the door, minutes later. I go to open it and James stands in front of me with a large gift. "Hey..." I hug him and invite him inside.
