That day, Luke didn't write her back. He didn't even look at her, not even when she walked up to him. He was too mad. Not exactly at her, but at the thought that she already had a boyfriend and it wasn't Luke.
"Fucking hell," Luke cursed as he opened the door to the music room. Seeing her was inevitable in this class, or anywhere really. She just caught his attention.
He stomped off to his usual seat, as Alice stared at him in confusion. She doesn't even know what she did wrong, neither did Luke. So why the hell was he ignoring her? "Because she has a boyfriend and she would never go for you. And you're fucking pissed off about it." His subconscious mocks him.
Honestly, he read the letter. He liked everything about it. Except, of course, the boyfriend part. He liked that she wanted to talk in person just as much as he does. He wants nothing to do with her now. Nothing at all. Well, maybe not at all.. He still liked her even though he never knew her name. He winced at the memory of never knowing her name, yet here he was, absolutely loathing the thought of her.
"Luke?" He looks up from his guitar, to be met with her stunning blue eyes, staring back down at him. "I-uhm- was wondering if maybe you had an extra pencil?"
He didn't answer. He only stared. Both because of jealousy and complete shock.
"Great. Okay. You're giving me the silent treatment and I haven't even done anything," She throws her hands up in defeat and begins to turn around, when Luke grabs onto her wrist.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asks himself and before his mind could catch up, his mouth was already talking. "I do, have an extra pencil,"
He turns around to his backpack and gets the pencil out to give to her.
"Thanks." She says, but he can tell that she's a little weirded out.
"Your welcome," Luke smiles. "And I'm sorry for ignoring you."
"It's okay." She shrugs. She didn't really mind. "I'm sorry you had to hate me." She jokes, making Luke laugh.
"I don't hate you. I could never." Realizing what he had said, he apologizes again. He watches as her cheeks turn a deep shade of pink, almost making it red.
"I doubt that," She looks down at her shoes. "People hate me all the time.." She rolls her eyes, pretending not to be bothered, but it did bother her. It always has.
"Thanks again for the pencil." She smiles and turns around to go back to her seat. "Uhm, Luke, you're still holding me." She giggles.
"Oh, sorry." It's Luke's turn to blush this time. "Wait, will you tell me your name now?"
She laughs. "Jesus Luke, didn't you read my letter at all? You have to find out yourself."
"I am finding out myself. That's why you have to tell me."
"Alice." She finally says, then goes back to her seat as soon as Luke releases his grip on her.
Alice goes back to her guitar and Luke was still smiling like an idiot.
"Alice." He says to himself, testing it out on his own and it felt right falling from his lips.
