"You don't even come home for dinner anymore!" Alice's mom, Linda, yelled at her dad, immersing herself once more in his business schedule.
"How many times do I have to tell you that I have work?!" Her dad yelled back, just as loud.
"Work that you'd choose over your family! Your 17 year old daughter is a senior. She's growing up Ron! She won't be around forever and how do you think she feels never getting to see her own dad because of work?" That's when Alice snapped. Usually, she would just let them scream it out and cool down on their own, while she drowned herself in her own music. But whenever she was mentioned, she just couldn't stand it. She didn't want to hurt either of her parents by having one parent use her against the other. She pulled out her earphones, put on some shoes and grabbed her phone. She quietly crept down the stairs and out the door.
Alice breathed a quiet sigh of relief before she called someone on her phone, eager to find an escape. When no one picked up, she decided to get in her car and type in the address on her phone for the GPS.
She aimlessly drove from street to street, not quite sure on where she was heading. It was like her brain couldn't catch up with her body or her heart. She followed the directions on her phone and pressed on the break when she arrived at a modest little home. It was cute. White fence and everything.
Alice stayed inside her car for a few minutes, questioning herself as to why she chose to come here and what could they possibly do to help her mood.
"Fuck it." She thought and opened the car door, walked up right onto the porch and knocked.
