Luke woke up that Sunday afternoon feeling as shitty as he had the night before. He groaned, stretching as his back muscles popped and looked around his bed. He had cuddled next to his guitar and papers with lyrics had covered him. He sighed at the remnants of yesterday came flooding back and he felt like going back to sleep, but he decided against it and went for a jog instead.

"Luke!" His mom called. "Hey, honey, I need you to drop by the store and pick up some groceries." His mom, Liz, asked of him.

"I was gonna go out anyway." Luke mumbled, his voice hoarse from last night.

"Thanks. Here's the list and I won't be home until Tuesday and your father until Wednesday."

"So I'm completely alone?"

"Yup. I'm sorry."

"It's fine." Luke put on his shoes, took the list and gave his mum a hug.

"I'll leave lunch, dinner and money on the counter for you." And he was out the door.

After a few miles, he arrived at the supermarket. He bought all the things on the list and paid. While he was walking out, something caught his attention. A car. It was sleek and black whose plate number only had 14 on it. Ryder obviously. 14 was his football jersey number. Luke focused his vision to what was happening inside the car. Ryder was in the driver's seat and a girl was on top of him, kissing his neck. He caught Luke's eye and both their eyes widened.

Ryder pushed the girl off him and began to open the car door as Luke tried walking away from him.

"Hey! Hey!" Ryder called after him, but Luke continued to ignore Ryder. "Hey!" He finally caught up with Luke.

"Don't you go to my school?" He asked Luke, while Luke just stared at him, confused as to why the star quarterback was talking to a loser like him. "Because you caught him cheating, that's why."

"Yeah..."

"Can you just pretend you didn't see anything back there?"

"Why should I?"

"Because obviously I love my girlfriend enough to not hurt her."

"And you think kissing another girl wouldn't hurt her?"

"You not telling her wouldn't hurt her."

Luke rolled his eyes at this guy's pathetic attempts of righting his conscience. "Fine."

"You won't tell anyone?"

"I won't." Luke agreed just to get this whole thing over with.

"Okay. Thanks, uhm..?" Ryder trailed off, not knowing Luke's name.

"Doesn't matter what my name is." Luke shrugged, knowing Ryder would forget it anyway.

"Yeah, okay. Thanks again." Ryder jogged off back to his car.

Luke didn't understand how he could cheat on Alice. She was so innocent, which is why it bothered him more that she was dating someone like Ryder.

Luke arrived back home and fixed the groceries and put them in the proper places. His phone buzzed on the counter signaling a text, but when he looked at it it was from an unknown number.

Unknown: Hiiiiiiiiii

Robert: Who's this?

Unknown: Alice..?

Robert: Oh, hi:-) How'd you get my number?

Alice:-)): I have sources;)

Robert: You're a stalker aren't you

Alice:-)): I looked it up at the school dictionary lol

Robert: Same thing

Alice:-)): Nahhhh

Robert: Yahhh

Alice:-)): Nopey nope

Robert: YASSSSSHHHHH

Alice:-)): NOOOOO

Robert: Are we done screaming at each other I might go deaf

Alice:-)): That doesn't even make sense cuz we're not at the same place lol haha

Robert: You're right haha

Robert: Anyways what's up

Alice:-)): I was bored

Alice:-)): I'm watching tv

Robert: What are you watching

Alice:-)): idek what it's called but the guy just cheated on the girl and the girl's friend saw it and the guy asked the friend not to say anything

Luke mentally face palmed at the irony of it all.

Robert: Oh cool

He was starting to feel guilty and decided to tell her, but his mind stopped him. He weighed his options: Tell Alice and she breaks up with Ryder and make her sad or not tell Alice and she doesn't break up with Ryder and she'll be happy.

Alice:-)): If you were the friend, would you tell your friend that they were cheated on?

"This girl oh my god." Luke thought.

Robert: Definitely

Alice:-)): Cool I would too

Robert: :-)

Alice:-)): That is the creepiest smiley face I've ever seen

Robert: It's cute

Alice:-)): Nope

Alice smiled at her and Luke's texts. She was so happy she was able to find his number.

"Wow, I haven't seen you smile that big in ages." Her dad commented, opening the door to her room.

"It's nothing." She blushed.

"As long as you're happy, sweetheart." Her dad smiled and closed the door to her room.

Alice and Luke both fell asleep on each other that night and for the first time ever, they were excited for Monday.
