The sun began to rise, stirring Elsa from her sleep. She groaned, knowing it meant she had to get up and make breakfast for herself and the kids. She sat up and stretched, then made her way to the kitchen, only to realize they hadn't bought any food the day before.
"Fantastic," she muttered to herself.
She thought to herself " Just great. Now what are we going to eat now?" Elsa went back to her bedroom to get dress. She decide that to wear a pair of jeans and a shirt. Her first task was to get some food. She left Winter a note, explaining that she was heading into town to pick up groceries.
Upon Elsa's arrival in the town, she garnered numerous glances from passersby. Soon after, she was approached by a long-lost acquaintance. Though Elsa smiled politely, she struggled to recall who this person was.
"Do you not recall me?" she asked.
"Sorry, your voice does ring a bell," Elsa admitted.
"Eliza, it's been ages since you were in town. Does 'Merida Haddock' jog your memory?" Merida queried.
"Oh, Merida! Married to Hiccup now, huh? You've changed a lot, especially your hair. How's life been treating you?" Elsa inquired.
"Haha, yeah, married to Hiccup. I've evolved a bit, I suppose. But it's a bit of a mess lately, thanks to that jerk, Hans," Merida chuckled.
"Wait, Hans is still around? I thought he left because he couldn't stand this town," Elsa exclaimed.
"Unfortunately, after you tied the knot with Jack, it's been a solid decade, and he sort of lost it, taking control of the town as the police chief. But how's life been treating you?" Merida inquired.
Elsa's voice quivered sadly as she responded, "We ended up divorcing, Merida."
Merida's gasp conveyed her surprise at Elsa and Jack's split, swiftly enveloping her friend in a warm hug. "Elsa, I'm so sorry," she expressed sincerely.
"It's alright, Merida, but we had two kids. Winter and Jamie Frost," Elsa shared.
"I'll have to come and meet them someday. So, what's on your agenda right now?" Merida asked.
"I was just grabbing some groceries for me and the kids," Elsa replied.
"Same here, but for me and Hiccup. Well, mostly just for me," Merida joked.
Elsa chuckled at Merida's remark, and they made their way to the nearest food shop.
Elsa purchased bacon, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, bread, ice cream, soda, and a couple of chocolates. As they left the shop, they unexpectedly encountered Crazy Hans, who shot Merida a glare before noticing Elsa. Elsa kept the conversation going with Merida, inviting her and Hiccup to visit around lunchtime.
Hans smirked at Elsa, but her only response was to grasp Merida's hand and stride past him. His gaze lingered on Elsa, mostly focused on assessing her changed appearance, before he finally tore his eyes away and entered the food shop.
Watching her depart, a dark notion crept into his mind: "Elsa, one day you will belong to me."
