Stain, Royland and the elven female sat around a small campfire in complete silence, Stain was the first to break the silence as he looked at Royland.
"What happened Royland? Since I've arrived here neither of you have said a word to me." Stain said as he poked a stick into the fire.
The silence lingered in the air a while longer before Royland looked at Stain, "War is coming. Pestilence has already been around for krosts, yet not in the manner we thought it would."
Stain threw the stick into the flames and crossed his arms, "You going to need to elaborate on that Royland. If you are referring to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, then what do you mean Pestilence has been around for krosts already?"
"If you are aware what Pestilence represents then one would think a plague would spread across the land, spreading disease to all living organisms; however, what if Pestilence is really a disease that affects the heart and mind? A disease that slowly eroded the love and trust for one's fellow living organisms."
"That would explain the murders, rape, robberies and general distain living creatures and people have for one another. That would also mean you arriving was the coming of War."
"You are correct, only I am not War; the Gods plan on sending something much more fearsome than me, something that's powers far exceed my own. Knowing the Gods, we don't have long before the real War will arrive. We know the humans under Conanus have rallied to fight a war, meaning not too long after the war starts the third rider will come. Famine will spread through the lands and all living creatures will fight for the little food that remains, this will only strengthen War and Pestilence."
"Still what is the end goal of the Gods?"
"I cannot be sure, but I can only hope it is not to bring forth- "Royland said before he was interrupted by the elven female who had been quite the entire time.
"Death."
Royland turned and looked at the elven female, "Yes Death."
"You seem as though you know something about the fourth rider." The elven female said to Royland.
There was silence from the three people around the campfire, all that could be heard was the slight sway of the leaves from the wind and the crackling of the fire. Stain and the elven female had their eyes on Royland, who continued to stare into the dancing flames, flames that reminded him of home.
Without looking away from the fire Royland let out a sigh before he spoke, "Long before I was sent to Ejitope by the Gods, I overheard rumours of a powerful being that was sealed away by the Gods. Later I managed to sneak into the Royal Meeting, a meeting where the four highest ranked Gods meet and discuss matters important enough to bother, the Leader of Gods, Unos with. What was strange was the fact that Unos was not present at the meetings, or at least the meeting I had snuck into. It was there that I learnt of a monster that was born from a God and Demon, and that this strange crossbreed somehow had the blood of a dragon running through its veins – despite the fact that dragons had long since been eradicated. They said should the seal ever be broken the Dark Lord will rise and all the Fallen will rally under his banner, they would wipe Ejitope of all powers who wish to rule humans and other powers, and bring death to all that tried to stop them. Nothing and nobody fits the description of Death better than the king of the Fallen, the Dark Lord."
"But why would the Gods want to bring this monster forth if it means they will be destroyed?" Stain asked, clearly confused by what Royland had said.
"I can only summarise that the Gods wish to strike a deal with the Dark Lord or try to get the Dark Lord to join their side."
"So whoever the Calamities' master is, it is clear they are trying to break the seal. Yet I don't believe they are working for the Gods, meaning there must be another party who wishes to free the Dark Lord." The elven female said.
