"Judesis, I believe that the counsel came to the decision that no God shall walk these realms. Gods shall remain in their realms, Demons in theirs and Dragons in this realm, never to meet less they want a war to begin. That being said, give me one good reason why I should not vaporise you where you stand?", a fierce looking dragon said to the God Judesis.
Judesis raised his hands in a none hostile manner, "I am merely here on behalf of the Gods to deliver the message Viezil. I do not wish to engage in meaningless combat, but you have to understand that this could be a chance to expand and experiment with new powers."
Viezil spread his wings as he prepared to take off, "Do not test me Judesis, I have no interest in the Gods' sick experiments and their lust for power. Be gone from this realm!"
"Very well; I will leave King of Dragons, but do give thought to our proposition."
Judesis' body turned into floating scripts before it shot up and disappeared. Viezil landed where he had previously been laying and fell into a deep slumber.
Opening his eyes, the man found himself laying in the grass next to the pond, only the pond had dried up revealing a path deeper into the tomb. The man realised that it was no dream that he had just had, it was a vision of the past, a discussion between a dragon called Viezil and a God called Judesis.
"So this is the tomb of the King of Dragons. I wonder how he died if he was powerful enough to force the Gods and Demons into a territorial agreement. I must press on and learn what he meant about the Gods' lust for power."
The man stood up, patted the dirt from his backside and entered the dried up pond, descending deeper into the tomb. The deeper he went the more the scene around him changed, the man now found himself entering a thick and lush forest with a bright ceiling. It was so bright inside that particular area that one could easily mistake it for the open sky outside. The man was fascinated by the wonders that this tomb held, it was impossible to see this as a mere grave underground. This tomb was a realm of its own, a realm that only the worthy were allowed to tread upon. As the man got deeper into the forest, he began to hear footsteps and whispers around him. The man did not want to make it obvious that he had noticed the presence around him, so he continued to walk, taking only short glances to each of his sides as if deciding which way to go. It wasn't long before the man sensed that he had been surrounded and that he no longer had anywhere to go.
"I do not seek any trouble, I merely want to pass through the forest and descend deeper into the tomb."
"Only those deemed worthy may have safe passage through this forest.", a voice said as a figure emerged from behind a tree.
The figure before the man definitely had the form of a human, yet it was almost completely transparent.
"What are you?"
"We are the souls of fallen dragons, we have long since died and reside in this forest to protect Viezil's grave from the unworthy.", the figure said as multiple semi-transparent figures emerged from the forest, "So tell me, are you worthy?"
"It matters not whether I am worthy or not, I am nobody of importance. Simply put I am merely a spectator, a recorder of history, my job entails that I learn the past so that I can record the events that are currently unfolding in an unbiased manner."
The souls around the man slowly began to recede into the trees, leaving only the soul that spoke to the man behind. The soul stared at the man for quite some time before it reached forward and plunged its hand into the man's chest. The man could feel the spectral hand as it closed around his heart and tightened its grip. Strangely though the man felt no pain from having his heart crushed, how long the sensation lasted the man was not sure, but when the soul withdrew its hand a smile formed on his face.
