Sidharth Malhotra as Abhi Nizam Qureshi (A.V.).

Abhi Nizam Qureshi:- Has always been the popular boy in school and college. He an American-Indian with his mother a former American and father an Indian Muslim. Being the only child to his rich parents, he has always been well pampered and has turned out to be the spoilt brat. Never values any relation. To him love is nothing but the urge for sex. The most important thing about him is that he is very selfish and cares about none.

Varun Dhawan as Vinod Khanna.

Vinod Khanna :- The usual cool dude of his school and college. Cool minded and chilled out guy. The elder son to his single father and is totally out of control of his father. Has his best friend and guru, Abhi who is the son of his father's colleague. Values relationships as he learned from his grandmother. His grandmother's ladla.

Alia Bhatt as Vaidehi Trivedi.

Vaidehi Trivedi :- Her grandmother and grandfather's only grandchild. She has been brought up by her grandparents after her parent's sudden death. She is from a strict Hindu family from central India. She is a stylish girl and loves shopping. She spends alot on shopping almost each day though this doesn't affect her grandparents at all because they are the richest family in town. She is a rebellious girl and would not leave anyone who would do any kind of harm to her and her near ones.

Parineeti Chopra as D'mitra Gomez (Dimi).

D'mitra Gomez:- A bubbly, funny and carefree girl from the anglo Indian society. Though her parents are rich, but still she is not a spoilt brat. She knows how to value relationships and is single and is in search of her true love. Belives in fairy-tales and dreams of her prince who would come take her off her feet and carry her away to his palace where they will live happily ever after. She is very responsible.
