I wake up to a call. I answer it. "Come to my house, as fast as you can," Emily demanded. This is not like her, but I get dresses and run over there.
She leads me into her room. She locks the door, shuts the blinds, and turns off all devices. Then she looks at me straight in the eye.
She lowers her voice. "Be really careful. I know you have already looked in Taylor's files, but be careful. The more information you learn the harder it is to keep."
She continues. "It will be harder not to share, but don't. It will be harder not to use this against her, but don't. Lastly, it will be harder not to look in other people's files, but don't. I am warning you."
I wake up in panic. I look at the time, it is six. I get ready and decide to spend my morning, before school, at Starbucks.
The Starbucks it's right across the school, so I will have plenty of time. As soon as I grabbed my drink Emily walked in.
"Ivey!" Emily exclaimed. "I didn't know you came to Starbucks before school," She said. "I don't, this is my first time."
We chatted untill it was time to go to school. Ivey! Why can't you tell her about your dream? "Ivey, what's wrong?" She practically yelled at me. I ignored her.
"Ivey!" She said, a little louder. "Oh, sorry. I am tired," I said. I wasn't lying. I said I was tired, just stating a fact. I just didn't tell her the reason.
We grabbed our stuff and headed to the dreaded school. As soon as I shut my locker the bell rang. Shoot. I am going to be late.
I ran as fast I could. I opened the door quietly, but my teacher has the ears of a bat. "Hello, Ms. Ivey. You are late."
I knock on the door to the principles office. "Come in," She says. "I got in late," I say, in a gloomy way.
"Were you actually late? Or Ms. Maxine late?" My principle asks. "Actually late," I reply.
"Ah. Ms. Ivey, I am sorry, but you have been late too many times. I am going to have to give you a detention."
Dang-it. My parents are going to flip. "Yes, ma'am. Can I call my parents before I head back to class?" "Yes, of course."
I called my parents. They were not happy about it, but they were not mad... mabye I can get out of trouble.
Detention is finally over! I run home because I am so full of energy. When I get home I don't even bother putting my stuff in my room, I just plop them down next to the table.
Then I lay down on the couch and watch TV.
An hour later my mom walks in the kitchen to see all my stuff. "Ivey, come put up your stuff," My mom says, calmly.
"Can't I just stay? I am really tired." I try and reason with her. "Whatever, I will put it up," My mom gives in. She goes to my room and I continue watching.
Wait a minute, how long has it been since mom went in my room? I check my watch. Fifteen minutes! I race up stares, only to see something horrible.
My mom was going threw my secret stash of Kyle.
