Clouds

You inhaled and exhaled deeply, enjoying the fresh air. You were laying on the soft damp grass, looking up into the sky. It was cloudless and blue, nothing interesting, but a beautiful view. The group was inside the house that you are all staying at the time being as you were patrolling outside on the yard, making sure the undead didn't come to eat your guys' flesh. You propped your head on top of your hands and kept on watching until you heard an unwelcomed guest. You sighed, annoyed as you heard gurgling and groans from a Z. Sitting up, you watched as it got closer and bam; It was getting electrocuted from the yards fence. You lazilly grabbed the sharpened stick that was beside you and stabbed it through its head, its lifeless body dangled over the fence before you pushed it over. You went back to laying down and gazing. Suddenly, your view was blocked as you saw a head hovering over yours.

"Hey 10k"

The corners of his mouth perked up at the mention of his name.

"Hey (Y/N)", he responded.

He plopped down beside you before leaning back slightly as his arms supported him. He looked at you, noticing your bored expression as you stared up into the blank sky.

"boring job?", he asked, referring to the patrolling.

You hummed and nodded your head. He then looked forward, seeing Z's staggering around as a few came close to the fence. Before they could touch the fence, he pulled out his slingshot and shot those few with rocks, watching them as they collapsed. You then noticed clouds slowly taking form in the sky. They were all wonky, but soon shaped into things you knew. 10k noticed also and leaned back into the grass, gazing upon the sky with you. His mouth grew into a toothy smile as he lifted his hand, pointing at a specific cloud.

"that one looks like a teddy bear", he says as he kept pointing.

Once he knew you caught it, he dropped his arm. You smiled with mirth, noticing the teddy bear shaped cloud and admiring at how similar it looked like to the childhood object. You searched around and found a dragon head.

"look at that one", you said as you pulled your hand from underneath your head and pointed at it.

He noticed and chuckled slightly, "it's a dragon head"

You both continued looking for more shaped clouds and shared grins and joyful laughter. You both enjoyed yourselves too much that you guys didn't even notice the dead struggling against the fence. Roberta stepped out of the house, her hands on her hips as she caught you guys laughing while Z's were trying to get in. She shook her head gently and sighed before grabbing a long sharpened stick from the porch. She walked off the porch and trudged across the lawn to the fence while you guys laughed. She put herself at work, killing the Z's one by one.

"would you guys quit slacking and patrol without getting distracted?", she almost pleaded.

You sat up and 10k followed, staring at the woman who stabbed the last Z. You gave a sheepish smile and rubbed your nape in embarrassment.

"Sorry, Warren.. We'll keep watch for real", you said and 10k nodded in agreement.

She looked back at you guys and hummed doubtfully. She just sighed and walked back to the house.

"don't have too much standing by the fense at least", she asks before going back inside.

You watched her leave and laid back down.

"Yeah, Tommy, you're distracting me from my job", you teased and nudged him gently.

He turned his head and glared lightly at you. You chuckled as he laid back down with you.

"You're distracting me.. I'm supposed to be disposing bodies right now"

You rolled your eyes playfuly. His hand went to grab yours and you intertwined your fingers with his. Pink dusted onto your cheeks as you hesitated to look at him, only to find out he was already staring at you. You gave a small smile as you reached over with your other hand and lightly punched his shoulder.

"quit staring, creep", you stammered jokingly.

He scoffed and just smiled widely, letting out a snicker.

"You're just more enjoyable to look at", he commented.

Your cheeks grew warm as you pointed at the sky.

"what do you mean? look at the sky, it's stunning", you said back.

"not as stunning as you"

You facepalmed yourself as you felt your face burn. He looked back at you and laughed. He then scooted closer to your figure, his grip on your hand has tightened, but it was comfortable. He leaned closely to you and placed a subtle kiss on your forehead.

"I love you", he said against your head.

Your insides twisted and fluttered. You took your hand away from your face and smiled gently, looking up at him.

"I love you too"

You felt a drop of water on your nose. Seconds later, more drops started falling onto you. Your eyes widened as you realized it was going to rain. You both sat up quickly as soon it just started pouring. You scrambled onto your feet, almost slipping from the wet grass. You were already drenched as you tried getting 10k onto his feet, both of you were laughing in shock. You both ran and made it under the roof, standing on the porch as you looked back at the lawn, watching the rain pour cats and dogs. You stared, surprised at how fast it started pouring. 10k reached for the door knob, but then the door swung open, revealing Addy and Warren was behind her.

"you both are drying outside", the redhead said as Roberta tossed towels into 10k's arms.

"have fun", she said with a smile before closing the door.

10k just turned to you and you immediately started shivering from how cold it was so suddenly. Moments later, he wrapped you tightly in a towel and wrapped one around himself before hugging you as he wrapped you with his towel also. You both tried to keep warm and get dry quickly so you both can get into the warm house.
