(I hope you guys enjoy this lil oneshot, I got the idea from a request.
Requested by TheGothicBeauty101)It was a bright sunny day, the air swept past through your hair. You breathed in the breeze as you leaned back against the porch chair, your eyes watching the road as cars passed by. You hummed a little tune to yourself as you looked to your side, seeing your mother. Her huge smile made the corners of your lips perk up with joy.
"mom", you said happily.
"I love you, (Y/N)", she said in a lovely tone.
"I love you too, mom", you responded quietly, almost in a whisper.
You began to cry, you didn't know why. You saw your mothers expression quickly drop with worry, which you hated seeing because you only liked seeing her happy. She ushered you to come close and you stood up, walking over to her before kneeling. You laid your head on her lap before letting the tears drop rapidly. She started stroking your hair gently; you missed her fingers running through your hair. It was calming and it let you know that she loved you. You let out a sob before lifting your head to look up at her. She looked back and she gently placed her lips on your forehead.
Suddenly, you sat up on your bed, heart pounding and beads of sweat streamed down your face. It was just a dream. You felt your heart ache terribly, the dream has broke your heart once again. You missed your mom, she was the only person who was there for you before this hell started. She was always there to guide you, protect you and love you. No one else did that for you. Now she was gone.
"(Y/N)!! Wake up sleepyhead!"
You looked at the door as it swung open, revealing a red head. You sighed gently, swinging your feet over the edge of the bed as your toes met the warm carpet.
"alright, Addy", you almost whined.
She just smiled with mirth, gesturing you to come out and eat breakfast with the rest of the group.
~~~
It was your turn to patrol outside, to make sure no corpses were going to break in. You were sitting on a porch chair, your eyes stuck on the desolate boring road. No Z's were wandering around and definitely no sign of life, besides the group that was inside the house. Your elbow was on the arm of the chair as your hand held your chin up. It wasn't sunny, clouds blocked the rays of sunshine. There was a breeze, but a cold unwelcoming one. Luckily, you were wearing a jacket and you were wrapped in a blanket that Warren has given you earlier. Almost abruptly, the thoughts of your mother clouded your mind. Her smile blinded you from the real world, only to focus on what wasn't real at the time. Tears gushed out of your eyes, not being able to prevent them. You tried to calm down and you knew a way to calm yourself.
Singing.
You wiped away your tears as best as you can before lyrics left your mouth of a song you knew was your moms favorite.
Well I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
HallelujahThe words you sung was smooth and on point. Immediately, those harsh feelings left and only love swelled in your heart for your mom. This was definitely one of your favorite songs and you remembered her singing it to you when you weren't feeling yourself. Now, you're the one that sings this song to her. You kept on singing, singing your heart out for your mom and you knew she was in a place where she couldn't feel pain.
Maybe there's a God above
All I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah..
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
HallelujahThe last lyric came out quietly, but it was soft and melodic. You took a deep breath, your mind empty for once and you felt content. You suddenly felt a strong presence, like someone was watching you. You saw something in your peripheral; turning your head and your eyes widened, noticing it was 10k. Has he been there the whole time!? Your cheeks quickly flushed, avoiding eye contact as you looked forward back at the road.
"you're an amazing singer", he complimented.
Oh, how you wished you were dead right now. You hesitantly looked at him and saw that his intense green eyes were already staring back. You saw his small smile and your heart raced. You looked away, watching as the breeze made the long grass on the lawn sway.
"thank you", you stammered.
He just chuckled lightly, wanting to hear your voice again. He then shook his head slightly, realizing what he had to tell you.
"I forgot to tell you.. Warren said you can go back inside, it's my turn to watch"
You sighed gently, not really wanting to go back inside. You looked back at him and smiled gently.
"I'll just stay out here, with you", you said.
He looked surprised, but he smiled back at you; glad that you were staying outside with him.
"if you could, you should give me some singing lessons", he said jokingly.
You laughed at his joke before you both started a conversation that lasted hours.
(I hope you like that GothicBeauty, sorry that it took me awhile and I hope it was what you wanted :") I might make another chapter right now. Alright, peace <3)
