"WAKE THE FUCK UP SEAN!" I heard as I was slapped in the face by a small semi solid appendage. It was Akaalist. I tossed him into a wall.
"Ok asshole, Im up," I said.
"Good you got shit to do," He said sitting up and falling back into a shadow portal that he instantly walked out of to hover above my shoulder. Damn familiars. Akaalist had three forms I knew of; Human, Familiar and Sword. I walked down the stone halls to my office. I looked at the time, shit. It was nearly noon. That rockslide really beat the shit out of me. I only got to write for about half an hour before the holoscreen shot up flashing red and blaring a klaxon horn. Fuck. Akaalist had disappeared awhile ago but came back now.
"What the fuck is this bullshit?" Akaalist asked.
"How the fuck should I know?" I said standing up and walking to the window furiously tapping the holoscreen on my arm before jumping out of the window when my ship flew through spinning around to let me fall through the door and correcting itself. I hadnt had a chance to check the distress signal so I had no clue where we were going. I displayed the screen on the large scale and read the distress signal. It was coming from the Institute. In a few minutes the ship landed at the Institute. I jumped out onto the dark green grass of the northern island the institute stood. I ran across the field to the rickety, makeshift elevator that had been placed to get to the functional Institute while the above ground part was being constructed. I charged into the elevator and pressed the red down button. There was a loud clunk as the latch unleashed and the iron fence doors closed and the cable began lowering with a click clack sound for about 2 minutes. The gates opened to the pristine, polished white of the Institute. Dr. Anhe was waiting.
"Good you're here, we've detected something." He said in a tone that was a mix of excitement and fear. We walked through the bustling atrium to the Dimensional Observation and Studies Lab (DOS Lab for short).
"Ok, what's the thing," I ordered.
"Something has entered our universe, multiversal energy anomaly about 2 light seconds away. Energy readings are higher than Joule's entry energy but lower than the later discovered entry points to the UKC (UnKnown Combatants) in the last battle. We think it came from a different multiverse but not as far as the UKCs," Dr. Colner, Director of Dimensional Observations and Studies (and my great grandson) said.
"What is the UDO doing?" I asked.
"It's heading towards us, it'll be here in about 20 minutes," Colner said.
Fuck.
"Ok send a signal to the UDO and tell it to land on the island, i'm gonna get some military personnel here and i'm going to call Ryan just in case we need assistance," I said, "Move."
"Yessir," He responded and he began typing and giving orders. I walked out and opened the holoscreen and gave the command for the military to be on red alert as the elevator rose. I hear klaxons blaring and machinery moving as the Institute MDS locked on position. Helicopters sounded in the distance and I saw ships coming across the water, which was impressive but not nearly as much so as the starships rising as the flung through orbit. I called Ryan, it'd been a year since I'd spoken to him.
"Sean? Been a long time what's up," Ryan said.
"Get your military on alert, we may need assistance we got a UDO coming in unknown if it's friendly or not," I said.
"Well fuck," Ryan said and let out a frustrated sigh, "Ok my military is on high alert, starships are a warp second away, if you require assistance just call 789569."
"Thanks Ryan," I said as I ended the call.
I saw a small jet like object begin to glow in the skyline. I zoomed in on it. It was black and weirdly enough had english on it. It was an Omega symbol with the Alpha symbol running through it. Next to it it read "Ares Weapons Inc." in faded crimson. I pulled back and waited for the thing to descend. Jets landed and starships got into position as helicopters roared. Ships prepared missile defense systems, soldiers in nanofiber black and gold surrounded me in a defensive position. Black smoke whisked in my hand as Akaalist crystallized into blade form. The ship landed. I could now see it was more of a sleek cargo ship, or dropship. I readied my abilities and Akaalist began to glow green as the a platform lowered from the front and a man in a red and black sleek and slim space suit stepped out. He had black hair and almost glowing red eyes. He stepped outside, spread out his arms and breathed.
