Just like to thank, @AmourAgencyShipper , @AshFlame01and @R0ck3t_FiRe for voting on my story and commenting. If I have missed anyone (which I honestly don't know how but I probably have because I'm stupid) then please leave a long hate message and I'll mention you next chapter. ;) Just leave it right here -->

It had been a few days now and the professor and I had got much closer than ever before. He talked about how he had to end his journey of becoming a trainer early to study and become a professor that his father wanted him to be. He even talked about his relationships with all the ladies and how he used to battle in the leagues with all of his rivals, recalling one of his best matches he had ever experienced, when he was at his peak, against one of his best friends and rival. This gave me more desire to train and even gave me the desire to train with my pokemon.

"Come on, Infernape, stronger!" I said deflecting his hook punches and sidestepping his jabs. "You're too hard-headed, you can't just rely on your speed alone to win a match up, analyse, strategise, then attack." I said giving my monkey some much needed advice during the sparring match.

Infernape crouched down and spun quickly on the ball of his right foot, straightening his left to sweep me off my feet. I quickly responded and jumped high in the air to dodge. This left me suspended in the air for a split second giving the fire monkey enough time to punch me square in the chest. The blow sent me flying back to where I slid across the lush, tea green grass.

I slowly came to a stop and, with a hard grunt, raised my torso so that I could see the fire ape before me, albeit a few metres. "Nape!" the starter pokemon said with both annoyance and concern as he looked at me with his usual hard look but a bit softer this time.

I coughed a couple times and struggled out some words, "Don't give me that Infernape," I coughed and started again, "I don't need your pity, I said don't go easy." the monkey still acted a little annoyed but didn't think too much of it since he knows that I am too stubborn for him to change my mind. "Look, this is why I chose to train you one on one, your fighting skills are world class but when beating the other pokemon in hand to hand combat you make it too complicated for yourself." I said hopefully being able to improve my passionate but rock headed Sinnoh starter.

I rubbed my chest but carried on with my thoughts, "Your ability is also your best asset, I just don't want to have to rely on it. Not again." I said to the pokemon and friend in front of me. He gave me a determined look with a nod of understanding about what I was referring to, while also agreeing with my statement. "Anyway, that punch was powerful, more than last time. I didn't think you could improve that quick," I said a little confused as to why it hurt so much more.

"Infer, fer, nape." Infernape said with a smirk.

"No, I didn't, why?" I asked genuinely confused about where this monkey was going with it.

"Infernape," he said while offering me his hand. I gladly accepted while still in deep thought about what he was talking about.

"Oh, I'm so thick!" I exclaimed a little annoyed as to how I missed that. "Your arm glowed white, which can only mean one thing, mach punch," I said out loud. This earned a sarcastic clap and a laugh from the pokemon. I playfully pushed the monkey, but as he was weak from laughing so hard at my reaction he ended up stumbling to the ground, only being able to roll from ecstasy.

"That punch was good though, I have to admit" I said finally getting off the topic of me, while soothing the pain in my torso.

"Infer, nay, nape," he said while pumping out his chest and smirking.

"No, I have taken much worse, and by the way you handled that sparring match, especially if you had to use mach punch to have enough speed to punch me while I was in the air, then you are definitely not my strongest" I said back making sure his ego doesn't get too high just like Trip the cocky Paul impersonator.
