"Clauncher, let's go!" The male sibling shouted with much pride and confidence in his voice.
"Meowstic, help us out!" The female sibling said.
"Treecko, let's win this!" Sawyer shouted.
"Pika!" Pikachu said with excitement while getting into his battle stance and yellow sparks of electricity coming out of the sacks in his red cheeks.
Ash stood looking very disinterested in the battle, "Why are you so enthusiastic?" Ash directed the rhetorical question at his pokemon. "What's the point in crushing a bunch of noobs anyway?" Ash stated.
The sparks of electricity stopped and Pikachu turned to face Ash with a bewildered expression plastered on his face. Pikachu was a little disheartened to hear such a thing come out of his mouth, something that made Pikachu stop and think if if it was Ash anymore, but this isn't the place to chat about it, after all they had a battle to win.
"Hey! How are you so sure you would destroy us?!" The male sibling shouted, annoyed. "We're strong, and we can prove it!"
Ash was rubbing his forehead in frustration and annoyance. He was clearly taking a disliking to his opponent already, on top of the fact that he didn't even want to be there.
"You sure are confident in your abilities and you only have a Pikachu, what makes you so powerful?" The younger, more collected sibling commented.
Ash chuckled. "This little guy has beaten more powerful pokemon than you will ever know." Ash stated while crouching down and bumping fists with Pikachu. He stood back up again with pride and joy evident in his countenance.
"Don't make me laugh, it's not even a Raichu." The male sibling said not accepting anything Ash says due to the sibling's disliking for Ash.
The mention of the name Raichu made Ash form a fist. The amount of times they had fought the evolved form of Pikachu was countless, but the rate they came out on top was one hundred percent... in the end that is.
The girl was studying Ash and the emotion he was showing after what her brother said. Her thoughts were interrupted by the trainer beside Ash, "Yeah?! Well defeating powerful pokemon is a humble statement, Pikachu beat Latios and he did it live in the Sinnoh league, so there's even video proof!" Sawyer shouted standing up for Ash and his idol.
She looked to her side to see her brother getting shutdown by their words and getting more scared by the minute, like a bully meeting someone that's higher up the chain. She sighed, sooner or later her overconfident brother would crumble, but she didn't expect it to be the very first round.
The referee had turned up to officiate their match as it was now time. The referee announced the tournament rules as legally obliged. "Battle BEGIN!"
"I'll finish this up within a few moves, Quick attack!" Ash commanded.
"Pika!" Pikachu cried and glowed white, running almost invisibly towards its opponents.
The male brother was too scared to react or give a command, luckily for him someone wasn't. "Quick Guard!" His sister said. Her male Meowstic cried and put up a wall of light in front of both Meowstic and Clauncher. Pikachu hit the wall and bounced back, creating dust. When the dust settled it revealed to have neither Meowstic or Clauncher affected. Ash raised an eyebrow while Sawyer was stunned with wide eyes.
"You see," the female sibling started, "Quick guard blocks any damage from priority moves such as quick attack, aqua jet, bullet punch et cetera." The female sibling said while brushing her hair behind her ear. "Reflect!" She commanded and Meowstic put up a wall of light in front of both it and Clauncher for a brief moment as it then disappeared from sight.
