"Yes, I'm doing fine", I stepped out of the apartment building onto the pavement, and found Jacob standing there with a cigarette in his left hand and his phone at his ear with the other, "yes, mum, I'm taking the medication".

His back was turned to me, as I slowly walked towards him. My brows furrowed; maybe he really did have something if he was on some medication.

It was common for people with ADHD to take medication for the disorder in Uni, to really help them concentrate on their studies. But then again, Jacob didn't seem like he was on any medication.

"Alright, love you too", he spoke into his phone, bringing the cigarette to his lips before blowing out smoke, "bye".

I watched as he hung up, and slid the phone into the front pocket of his dark skinny jeans. It was very early in the morning; just past 7 AM. The sun was just rising and there was a dim and foggy glow outside today.

"Jacob?" I asked, making him turn around abruptly. "Shit, hey", he let out a chuckle, running a hand through his hair, "good morning, Isis".

"Morning", I gave him a small smile as I stepped up to him, hugging my Psychiatry course folder against my chest, "what are you doing here?"

He shrugged, "I was thinking maybe you'd like to walk together? I like you".

I raised my brows at him slightly. If he had something going on with that Alex girl, who'd come to talk to us a few days ago as we stood outside the Busy Bean, I wasn't okay with this. There was nothing I despised more than cheaters, yet Jacob definitely didn't seem like one.

I still didn't know what he and Alex had done that night, but I lowkey hoped there wasn't anything more than friendship going on between the two.

"I mean", he quickly cleared his throat, blushing a little as he realised what he'd said with wide eyes, "I don't like you".

I raised my brows again, the side of my lips tugging up a bit at his rushed words, "you don't?"

It was cute how nervous he now seemed while looking so cool with a grey Rolling Stones hoodie, dark intense eyes as well as his dark and warm brown hair which was slicked back with the ends naturally a little curly. All in all, he was a very good looking man.

"Shit, I'm sorry", he looked down at the pavement between us quickly, shifting on his feet, "I just messed up. I meant, since we have Experimental Psychology first and I like you as a friend, I was thinking it would be nice to walk together?"

"Sure", I gave him a teasing smile as he finished his cigarette, "how've you been? I haven't seen you in a few days".

We began walking towards Uni, side by side, along the sidewalk. Jacob hadn't been at the few lectures I had with him during the last few days, so I hadn't seen him since the Busy Bean, where we'd hung out with Becky, Miles, Sean and Bunny.

"Good", he told me, taking out another cigarette from his pocket. I didn't want to start lecturing him about how unhealthy it was because I was positive he knew it already, so I just ignored it. "What about you?"

"Same. Thanks for introducing me to your friends, by the way", I gave him a warm smile, as his eyes kept on glancing between me and the pavement in front of us, "they're not so bad".

He chuckled a little, lighting up the cigarette as he began smoking it. "They're not", he agreed, "Bunny really likes you. She wanted me to ask you if you'd like to come with us to a party tonight?"

I'd never really been the partying type, but I guess since I was starting completely fresh here with a mission of leaving all my past mistakes and regrets behind me, a party wouldn't hurt. "What party is it?" I asked.
