"Do you have any painkillers?" Bunny asked me, eyes showing just how hungover she was. I laughed a bit, "did you really go to a party on a school night?"
She shrugged, flipping her hair over her shoulder as we waited in the hallway for the door to be opened to our lecture hall.
"Sean wanted me to come along to this stupid party with his old friends. I thought I'd meet a cute guy, or something, but every body was wasted off their asses so I didn't," she told me, amusement entering her voice.
I grinned lightly, "I don't have painkillers with me, sorry. I'm sure the professor will appreciate you looking hungover".
She giggled, shaking her head, "he's so hot. I might just ask him for a painkiller". I raised my brows at her, holding back a laugh as she gave me a wink.
"Has anything happened with you and Jones, by the way?" Bunny then asked, curiously. I cleared my throat awkwardly, hoping she'd have forgotten the whole subject.
"No, he hasn't texted me," I lied, "I'm just trying to concentrate on my studies, so I don't fail".
She hummed, "I'll tell him to text you. I don't know why he hasn't, he was asking so much about you".
"Oh, no, you don't have to," I quickly spoke, realising I was just digging myself deeper, "I'll talk to him myself when I see him".
Before Bunny could reply, I felt a hand on my lower back and glanced up to find Jacob having arrived to stand next to with a warm smile.
"Hey," I returned his smile, letting his hand stay where it was comfortingly. "Why do you look like death?" Jacob's eyes settled on Bunny, who scoffed.
I grinned, while she rolled her eyes, "I do not".
"She partied a little too much yesterday," I quietly told Jacob, both of our eyes on Bunny who raised her brows at us.
"Ah, okay," he chuckled, body obliviously inching closer to mine, "that's a great way to try to bed the teacher, Bunny. I'm sure it'll work".
"Shut up," she let out a laugh, rolling her eyes again, "at least you support me, right Isis?"
I nodded, a light grin on my lips, "to have sex with a forty-year-old man? Sure".
"A hot forty-year-old man," she corrected, eyes crinkling at the sides into a smile, "who can easily help me pass the course".
I let out a small laugh, enjoying Jacob's need to be close to my body. Before any one of us could speak, Miles appeared next to Bunny. This made my smile fade, as I discreetly moved away from Jacob quickly.
His hand left my back, and he glanced at me with a slightly confused look, which I ignored. With Miles' eyes on me like that, I didn't want to give him any more kind of proof that Jacob and I might have something going on, because I didn't want it to be ruined.
"Good morning," he spoke, eyes focused on me and a dirty grin tugging at his lips. I felt so disgusted by him, and how Becky obviously had no idea of what he was really like.
"Morning," Bunny looked up at him quickly, as I tried to keep my eyes on her instead of giving Miles any kind of satisfaction from the fact that he made me extremely uncomfortable.
Jacob still looked confused and a little worried - like he'd done something wrong, poor baby - and there was nothing I wanted more than to just have him in private again so I could be normal.
"Can I talk to you, Isis?" Miles asked, and my blood almost ran cold. My eyes met his, and narrowed a little, "class starts soon".
"It'll only take a minute," he shrugged, the smirk still on his lips. Bunny had pulled out her phone and didn't seem too interested, but Jacob was closely paying attention. I was scared to even begin to wonder about what he thought about this situation.
