"I think it's really cool that you're a Buddhist". The pizzeria was small and slightly dull, but at the same time had a comfortable atmosphere. Besides Jacob and I sharing a large Margherita pizza in a corner booth, there was a group of excitedly chatting elderly ladies.

"Thanks", I smiled, using two hands to eat my third slice of the pizza.

I felt very inappropriate as the way his eyes were observing me gave me dirty thoughts and feelings, even though his look was so innocent and without any real reason for me to feel turned on.

"Most people think I spend my time meditating and being non-materialistic", I added. Jacob looked so badass and mysterious, while in reality, he was a pure soul. The sexually active and hormonal part of me craved to corrupt his innocence.

He chuckled after taking a sip from his glass of Coca-Cola, "and you don't?"

I shrugged, "I do meditate, but only when I'm stressed. And I'm definitely not non-materialistic, I couldn't live without my phone".

Jacob let out a laugh, "I get that. Speaking of your phone, any chance I could get your number?" His dark and intense eyes looked so lively and pleased right now, it was very adorable.

"Oh", I hadn't even realised I hadn't given him my number yet, "sure, of course". I took out my phone from my bag on the floor between my feet.

My lips parted and I froze to stare at my screen for a moment, noticing a new message.

From: Unknown Number: how are you doing, bbgirl?;)

I had a very good guess as to who it was. Why was he texting me? I thought I had left him in my past when I graduated early and moved here.

"Is everything okay, Isis?" Jacob's voice brought me back and made me look back up at him. He was watching me curiously, trying to figure out what was going on in my head.

I cleared my throat and nodded, forcing out a smile. "You can add your number and text yourself", I told him, handing him my phone with the contacts open.

I watched as he typed in his number and saved it, his leg bouncing up and down once again.

I should have just blocked Noah's number when we broke up. I should never have even agreed to be his girlfriend in the first place or sent nudes when he'd asked me for them.

Once I got my phone back I managed a tight-lipped smile. He had saved his number under the name 'Jake' and sent himself a simple message to receive my number.

"Are you like a really big fan of Batman?" he then asked, while I grabbed myself a fourth slice. I furrowed my brows in amusement and tilted my head to the side a bit, "how did you know?"

I don't remember mentioning it to him since it's apart of the nerdy side of me which I preferred to keep hidden from hot men.

"You wear different Batman socks every day", he explained casually, before quickly clearing his throat. "Shit. It's not like I stare at your feet all day", he chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.

"I'm sure you don't", I gave him a laugh, while he blushed a bit. "I really don't. I just notice stuff", he tried to assure, probably thinking I know thought of him as a creep or something - which I honestly didn't.

His hand was on the small table, nervously tapping it with his index finger. Without thinking twice about it, I reached my hand over to gently place it over his, "calm down, I believe you".

He blinked slowly, not moving his hand away as it stilled. Once he gave me a small nod, I retreated my own hand and gave him a soft smile.

"Can I ask you something, Jacob?" I spoke, changing the subject to lessen his rapid flow of thought. "Yeah", he nodded, eyes never leaving mine.

He did intrigue me, and I wasn't going to be shy about it. Since Jacob didn't seem the type to make first moves easily, I decided I should at least make him aware of my interest in him.

"Are you seeing someone?"

His brows furrowed, his smile fading, "why would you think that?" I had a feeling he'd understood it as if I was asking him if he was seeing a therapist or a psychiatrist. This confirmed my suspicions of him having some sort of ADHD related disorder even more.

"Well you are good looking and very kind", I shrugged, not wanting to let him know that I knew that he had misunderstood my question, "I wouldn't be surprised if you had a girlfriend. Or boyfriend, whichever way you swing".

His eyes widened a little in realisation, and he cleared his throat. "Oh. I don't have a girlfriend. But I do swing that way".

I nodded, watching as an attractive grin formed on his lips. "Why?" he then asked, somewhat eagerly, "are you interested?"

I gave him a smile, "honestly, a little, yeah".

Jacob definitely hadn't been expecting me to say that, and almost choked on the slice of pizza he was eating. I laughed, as he coughed.

"Are you alright?" I was definitely amused once he'd calmed down and given me a nervous smile. "I am, yeah. I..I thought I was completely fucking up", he shook his head with a small chuckle.

I raised my brows at him, taking a sip from my glass of water, "with what?"

He ran a hand through his hair, glancing away quickly before his dark eyes met mine again, "I feel like I've completely embarrassed myself in front of you". He had a small smirk on his lips.

Maybe he was interested in me as well. I definitely felt very honoured, since he was very well liked and knew a lot of the people here; yet he chose to spend time with the nerdy, Batman-obsessed and comfortably dressed 17-year-old girl.

"You haven't, Jacob. I think you're actually really cute when you stumble over words".

He gave me a shy smile, looking away.

After we finished our lunch at the pizzeria, we headed back to Uni. We hadn't run out of subjects to talk about during the whole time, and I had really enjoyed myself. I would definitely be trying to get something more to happen between us than just friendship.

After my last lecture, I walked to my apartment and began getting ready.
