I sit down on the steps and smoke. I watch the cars pass by. I start thinking about Ben. Do I like him? Just as that thought spirals through my mind he passes by on his bike and waves. I killed my dad so I moved to neboilt with my aunt. Obviously Ben wanted to see me. Because we went slower around my house. I signal for him to come and he parks his bike trying to put the stopper on (forgot what it's called , sorry) I throw the cigarette behind me. And quickly put some gum in my mouth. "Hi Beverly, I like your shirt" he says. I smile "thanks" I say. He sits next to me on the steps. "Hey were going to the quarry wanna come? It's gonna be me, Bill,Richie and Eddie. Are you up for it?" I ask. He smiles and nods. I get up and I quickly text Richie and Eddie an also Bill to come to the quarry.

We decide to walk. I don't know what to tell Ben. We awkwardly walk and down even say a word. I look down at the rocks. With every step they crunch and clank together, they are heated from the sun shining down also on the lakes that make them sparkle. It would hurt to walk without shoes. That's some things I thing about. And also, what doe Richie see in that jerk Gretta, I don't like him and he doesn't like her but they used to go out. I want to get close to Ben but I can't. I don't know how.

He quickly coughs and holds my hand. We look at each other and smile. Gretta is walking down the road. " Hah, what a bunch of losers!" She yells. "Well at least I know the difference between an eyebrow and a regurgitated chocolate bar! Even without makeup you look like a mentally unstable gnome!" I yell back. She looks at me like she's gonna kill me. She walks over and tries to throw a punch. I duck and ram my head into her gut. Then I throw her onto the sidewalk and keep walking with Ben. "Bev, you sure are something..." Ben says. I nod.
