"Know what?"
"They're brothers."
I snorted at his words, unable to hold in my laughter anymore.
"But they don't look anything alike nor do they even have the same surname." I point out looking at Jungkook like he's grown a second head.
He rolls his eyes, "step brothers." He corrects himself.
Oh
That makes more sense.
After briefly chatting with Jungkook, he heads inside while I slowly drive back home. I come to a stop at the same bridge from before, instantly memories come flooding back.
Why was he so determined to jump?
There's a lot more to him that I don't know.
It bothers me how little I know about him, I want to understand him more. Know all his interests, what he doesn't like, what he does in his spare time but I knew I couldn't ask.
I was far too shy to hold down a long enough conversation with him,
God I hate being awkward.

Once I got home I noticed the lights were still on in the house, downstairs. I glance down at my phone noticing that it was only around 8 o'clock in the evening. I pull the large black door open and walk inside.
"I don't understand why you're so hard on him?"
I could hear my mom's voice coming from the kitchen, the door was slightly ajar letting me overhear her conversation.
"I've had it up to here with you sticking up for that stupid brat!" A voice growls, I instantly recognize it to be my father's. I edge closer, peeking through the small gap as I keep quiet, watching while they continue to argue.
"He's our son! Of course I'm gonna stand up for him. He doesn't deserve to have all this stress and expectations that you hold down on him. For all we know he might have a dream completely different to what you want him to do."
My father laughs bitterly with sarcasm, "our son? OUR SON?!? Oh no honey, he's your son. I want nothing to do with that boy if all he wants to do is sleep around with girls and hangout with lower class delinquents!"
"It was a date! He wasn't and would never sleep around, I didn't bring him up to be like that!" My mom hisses towards my father.
"And his friends are all really nice, well behaved boys but it's not like you would know that since you're never around in his life anymore!"
Suddenly a loud clap like noise echoes my ears, I stood shocked behind the door as I watch my mom hold onto her cheek, tears sprawling down her face.
Did he?
My body fills itself with rage. I yank the door open, fully exposing myself to them.
"HOW DARE YOU!" I shriek towards my father, standing in front of my mom to protect her from anymore hits.
My father looked furious, "HOW DARE I? HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!"
I couldn't take it anymore.
I punch him,
Square in the face.
He falls back knocking over one of the kitchen bar stools.
"Get out." I bark, he appears shocked at my actions since he doesn't move.
I grab a fist full of his shirt, jerking him close to my face,
"I said get out." I speak through clenched teeth. He recovers, pushing my hand off of him before dusting himself off and leaving.
As soon as he leaves my mom falls to the ground in tears. I sit down beside her, hugging her close to me while resting my chin on top of her head. Her cries were loud and full of pain, she clings onto my shirt while I mutter things like,
"You're okay now."
"He can't hurt you anymore."
At that moment I had never felt so hurt to see my mom so broken.
It destroyed me.
