"Mercy, but murders, pardoning those who kill." William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet.
-Loki's POV-
I shifted in the heavy shackles that held my hands, the chains clanking against one another in a rhythm that was both melodic and blood boiling. I licked the front of my teeth my stomach lurching. I did not care what my father had to say about my actions, as far as I was concerned, I had failed and, for me, that was punishment enough.
Thor held me tightly, two guards on either side as he lead me through the halls of the palace, the place that was my "home" for so long. I brought my shoulders back and lifted my head as I was brought forth.
The king and queen of Asgard sitting proudly on their thrones.
Odin made no moves.
But Frigga...She stood. Odin looked at her, getting the memo she sat back down, but a frown appeared on her features as if it pained her to sit.
"Loki," Odin said, looking down at me from his perch, he really did look like a bird sitting on a branch waiting to be shot down. I grit my teeth.
Thor took a step back and lowered his gaze to the ground, glancing up at me every so often.
"You have left New York in shambles, and Midgard in a panic, I have seen what you have done. You defiled us, you've defiled me."
I scoffed and looked up at him beginning to speak he held up a hand, silencing me.
"You stole the Tesseract, you tried to destroy everything."
"All of it was to win your approval, your highness." I hissed, bowing as best I could with my chains.
He glanced at Frigga then turned his attention back to me.
"You have caused grief, Loki. Not just in Midgard but with your mother and I as well."
"How many times do I have to say that I am not your SON! I AM A MONSTER, A CHARITY CASE, ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR STOLEN RELICS!" I screamed. Frigga closed her eyes and looked away, sniffing, I will admit a twinge of pain shot its way into my heart but was quickly replaced with malice.
Odin stood, "As far as I am concerned I still have power over you, as far as I am concerned you are my son, and as far as I am concerned I think you need to be taught a lesson!" He retaliated.
I sucked in a breath and looked at him, staying silent.
He banged his staff against the marble, breaking it. "As part of your exile, and your punishment," My "father" paused and looked down at me from his throne, I looked up at him, sneering.
"You will be stripped of your Godly powers, a spell will be placed on you that you will have to break and, you will live on Midgard with Thor and the Avengers for a year and, you will help rebuild what you have destroyed."
Anger flared in my chest, this was going to be a long and painful exile.
-Back On Midgard-
"That should be the last of the rubble," Steve said looking down at the broken pieces of buildings, cars, neon signs, and intergalactic space junk.
Tony sighed and landed next to him, looking at the pile that had accumulated, "Just another day in paradise."
Tony paused for a moment and Steve looked at him with an eyebrow raised. Natasha and Clint stood by with Bruce, Tony's mask on his suit folded onto the sides of his face revealing it.
