Krystal's POV

As me and Draco walk over to the kitchen we were greeted by a house elf. "We need to start now! We don't want to waste time. I hope you know how to cook", he said. "I do", I replied whereas Draco replied with, "I don't". The elf sighed and told me to teach him. I nodded.

I quickly tied my long black hair to a bun and saw Draco staring. "And why are you looking at me like that?" I asked. He just shrugged and turned away. "Ok...", I thought in my head.

I started cooking and Draco followed what I did since he has no clue being the spoiled kid he is. "Draco, turn off the stove you'll burn it!" I yelled at him from meters away. "It's burnt already. Sorry, Krystal", Draco apologized with a mix of sadness, worry and confusion in his eyes. I rolled mine and approached him. "I really need to baby you don't I?" I asked. He laughed lightly. "This is only frying so just make sure you take it out once it's a golden brown before it turns black and brown. And flip the meat over every few seconds", I said. "And please....don't forget to put oil first, Draco", I told him. "Alright! I'll do my best for you!" He smiled excitedly like a kid. It was cute, no doubt. We started cooking and cooking. We were sweating really badly but nevertheless, we had to finish the food. Or not Snape would kill us.

Draco's POV

I've never felt so tired my whole entire life it was so bad! It was clearly servant work and I was offended that Snape would give us such a horrid punishment. But cooking for the first time with Krystal wasn't as bad as I thought. I was absolutely clueless but she was there to help me. "Draco! You better get yourself together and not make the sauce splatter everywhere", she scolded me. I was quite scared.

And her being the smart one she is, measured everything and calculated how much of a certain ingredient when I couldn't. And of course she was a caring person, she kept reminding me to be careful and to not cut or burn myself. "If you bleed, trust me I won't be there to help you", she threatened. Though, I know she was lying as she wouldn't bare to see me, or anyone in fact, hurt. I mentally smile at myself.

"Cut those properly!" An angry house elf yelled at me. "And do it faster!" He added. I rolled my eyes and did what I was told to. Krystal was now beside me. "Let me help you cut those vegetables", she said. She tried to grab a knife but I also tried to at the same attempt. Our hands brushed and I quickly pulled my hand away. I was hoping I wasn't blushing. "So, Draco, how is it? Knowing that you're doing muggle' work", she asked me, not taking her eyes off the cutting board. "Uhm...it's horrible. Remind me again never to follow you to trouble. Don't want this to happen again", I said. "Gotta say it's much better with you around", I blurted out. She looked at me for a while. There was a pause. She was smiling and seemed like she was about to blush. "Thanks? Unless that was a lowkey insult stating that I'm a 'mudblood'. Is it?" She responded with a light chuckle. "I swear it's genuine gratitude", I said. There was another pause. She was smiling even more. "Wow. You're grateful to me?!" Krystal was clearly shocked. "A muggle born Ravenclaw? What have you done to Draco Malfoy?" She laughed. I knew that my reputation or image was a cold-hearted asshole and I want it to stay like that. Though, ever since the bet it's impossible to redeem it. "Just don't say I told you that", I said, anyways. "Awh you're embarrassed", she laughed.

We worked harder and finally the food was done. It was exhausting. We did put our blood, sweat and tears to the food about to be served to the Hogwarts students.

We left the kitchen and showered first since we were sweating. And then joined everyone to eat. We entered together and while we were about to take our seats, Crabbe said something. "Draco, you actually did muggle work, with a muggle. And the food's good. Why don't you become one yourself?" He joked as everyone on the Slytherin table laughed. But Krystal obviously overheard and she laughed with them too. "Shut the hell up", I told them, rolling my eyes. While I was eating the food which I made with Krystal (which was delicious), I stared at her eat as well. As usual. I don't know why but I liked looking at her eat. She has a very pretty face to look at. With fascinating hazel eyes, how could you not stare at her? She knew, for sure that I always stare at her when we eat. And she sometimes look at me back for a while. Just a simple glance. "When are you going to stop looking at her like that? First off, she's not a Slytherin. Second, she's not a pure blood", a fellow Slytherin told me as he stared at me straight to face. "That's none of your business is it? Just because I stare at her doesn't mean I like her. I know what you're indicating", I replied with a scowl. Then, the day ended.
