"Beep, beep." I heard, that's when I remembered, the week before Christmas, how long had I been in a coma. I heard doctors all around me, they had seen me move my finger most likely. I heard them getting Demi, Wilmer and I am pretty sure I heard James too. This was going to be embarrassing. I tried to open my eyes, but couldn't find the strength. The doctors started to unhook me from certain tubes that had been keeping me alive for a while, I started breathing on my own finally and could open my eyes. The first thing that I saw was James looking worryingly over me.
The next week I was able to talk again and go home to Demi and Wilmer. They told me that I had missed my 17th birthday by 2 days. They were inviting James over to celebrate my birthday with me. We went outside on the back porch later that night. He said that he did not want to talk about the accident again. Demi, Wilmer and Matilda were all inside so we were not afraid to talk about what ever.
"So when are you going back to school?" James asked me.
"I am supposed to next week." I replied.
"Okay, just saying, the school knows that we are dating."
"We are?"
"I thought so."
"Good cause I thought so too." I said back. Then he leaned forward like he was going to kiss me and said " You know that I will never leave you right?"
"Of course, and I should probably tell you something." I said.
"Anything."
"I love you." I said quietly waiting for him to respond.
"I love you too." he said.
Then he leaned farther forward until he was kissing me and I kissed him right back. Right then Matilda, Demi and Wilmer burst through the door cheering and whooping at us.
"It's about time." said Demi as we pulled away from each other and glared at them.
"Did you get a picture for them both to keep Wilmer?" asked Matilda.
"Ya, this is so going up on the wall."
"You guys suck." I said and ran up to my room, tears streaming down my face.
