Chapter 10: The Goblin's Revenge

I opened my eyes to see green and blue. We were surrounded by trees and sky and my first thought we were in the forest. I almost thought we were in the Forbidden Forest but I knew that it wasn't it. I was lying on what seemed to be leaves and twigs.

I gasped, feeling a sudden pain rise in my face. I didn't know what was wrong, but I was having a splitting headache. It caused me to sit up because at that moment I spat out blood from my mouth. I looked at my hands. My tan skin was turning paler as the Polyjuice Potion was wearing off.

"Aquila, are you alright?" I heard Harry ask as I spat up more blood. I nodded my head, turning myself on all fours as I felt my stomach burning. I looked down, seeing red on my robes.

"Harry!" Hermione squealed. "She's badly hurt!" I put a hand in front of him, who was trying to tend to my wound.

"D-don't worry, I'm fine," I said slowly. "I can fix it. I'll just heal myself." It wasn't true. I wasn't able to heal myself. Others — yes, but not my own person. But they didn't need to know that. Instead, I flushed out the wound with water and then closed my wound with ice.

I looked over to see Ron with a giant wound on his arm. Hermione had healed it somewhat however he still looked gravely ill and pale in the face.

"What happened to him?" I said, clogging up he wound finally.

"Splinched," said Hermione. Ron groaned and opened his eyes. His face glistened with sweat.

"How d'you feel?" Hermione whispered.

"Lousy," croaked Ron, wincing as he felt his injured arm. "Where are we?"

"In the woods where they held the Quidditch World Cup," said Hermione. "I wanted somewhere enclosed, undercover, and this was —"

"— the first place you thought of," Harry finished for her, glancing around at the apparently deserted glade.

"D'you reckon we should move on?" Ron asked Harry.

"I dunno." Ron still looked pale and clammy. He had made no attempt to sit up and it looked as though he was too weak to do so. The prospect of moving him was daunting.

"Let's stay here for now," Harry said. Looking relieved, Hermione sprang to her feet.

"Where are you going?" asked Ron.

"If we're staying, we should put some protective enchantments around the place," she replied and raised her wand, she began to walk around in a wide circle, murmuring incantations.

I decided to help her as I tried getting up to my feet to do the same thing. Harry got out a tent and Hermione set it out. Harry and Hermione half carried, half dragged Ron through the entrance of the tent. I went ahead and entered the tent before them, taking a seat at the couch to relax my stomach, which was hurting deeply. They put Ron on the bunk bed who looked much worse than when Hermione tried fixing him up. I raised my shirt, seeing how bad it was. I grimaced at the sight. The ice was melting against the wound. It wasn't exactly helping it and I needed medicine now. I took Hermione's beaded bag and looked for some healing ointment to quicken the process.

"So, have you got it?" Harry asked Hermione.

"Got — got what?" she said with a little start.

"What did we just go through all that for? The locket! Where's the locket?"

"You got it?" shouted Ron, raising himself a little higher on the pillow. "No one tells me anything! Blimey, you could have mentioned it!"

"Well, we were running for our lives from the Death Eaters, weren't we?" said Hermione. "Here."She pulled out the locket from her pocket and handed it to Ron. I continued to mend to my stomach, not really listening to the conversation as my injury was more important. This was obviously done by Yaxley, of course, who I wanted to burn to the ground.
