Kristle’s POV
I raced down to the cafeteria until I found him. He was wearing his ‘Dr. Who’ T-shirt and jeans. His eyes were liquid hazel and his hair was a mixture of chocolate brown and hazel and his name, is Tristan.
He waved to me and gave me a soft smile the minute he saw me. I smiled and waved back, partly because to prevent my legs from giving way.
From the way I just described him, you all could tell I do fancy him. I would tell you you’re not wrong but like any other girl or guy, I am too chicken to tell him.
My friendship with him is just too important to me to risk it all on the dreaded three words. Clarice detected my crush on him faster than Grace or Jessica ever did and for the record, Jessica’s my sister.
So anyway, I approached his table and sat opposite his chair. He then said, “ So, how was your day?”
“Fine, if you call getting lectured by that annoying history teacher fine. I think I shut down at banana.”
Tristan just laughed. I loved his laugh, even though it makes my heart flutter and cause a thousand Kristles to run around in my head.
“So, how was yours?”
"You wouldn’t believe it. I…”
“Well, well, well, look who’s here.”
I turned around to face that annoing jerk face that Clarice warned me about. I rubbed my temples before saying, “ What do you want?”
“Just want to see how my friends are doing.”
"I'll be your friend when hell freezes over! "
“Well you have a nasty temper there Kristle. And who’s there, your boyfriend?”
I knew my I was blushing the minute the temperature rose another 10 degrees. I did not even dare to look at Tristan. I knew that jerk face just ruined my friendship with me and Tristan.
The friendship I tried so hard to keep by not revealing how I really feel. That jerk is gonna pay.
“Look I don’t know what the hell your problem is but if you ever mention that again I will load you in a catapult and shoot you across the country. You get me?!”
Just to prove my point, I slapped him in the face before leaving the cafeteria with tears streaming down my eyes.
I looked behind to just see my final image of Tristan and that arse Jarly. Jarly was touching the cheek where I slapped him while Tristan was looking at me with those confused eyes.
The eyes I might never set my eyes upon ever again.
Tristan's POV
I don't get it. Why was Kristle so upset? We've been friends ever since we're 14. It's not very long but I consider her my best friend. Yet, I've never seen Kristle be so upset.
For some reason, it just makes me want to punch that stupid Jarly in the face to knock some sense into him. I should go after her.
So I ran after her, ignoring the looks on everyone's faces. I finally caught up with her but I was shocked at what I found. Kristle was crying.
I never seen her cry before. She never did for the past two years I known her. She was always the cheerful one, compared to her sister Jessica. Kristle always wore a smile on her face.
Well this made me angrier for some reason but I just shook it off and approached Kristle. When she heard me coming, for a second her eyes showed fear before it showed slight courage.
"Hey, you okay?"
She just nodded while looking down. I took a deep breath and grabbed her shoulders. Kristle let out a squeak before saying in between sobs, " What are you doing?"
I shook her shoulders playfully until she started to laugh. She then said, "I'm sorry I ran off but its just because I... thought that you will hate me and make the situation between us awkward."
"Nah, you know that jerk face. It happens. So, no hard feelings or anything?"
She hesitated before saying, "Yeah, sure. Friends as always."
