Chapter 23: MASH Meeting 3

Clarice twirled her finger around her ear piece nervously lost deep in thought. "Something bothering you Clare?" Grace raised a questioning eyebrow at Clarice as she placed her tea cup low enough to see Clarice hugging her knees. Clare returned it with a smile and slid her legs down into a crossed leg position as she replied back," your the one to talk. All of a sudden you're drinking tea." Grace's eyes widen as she cleared her throat and placed her cup back into its saucer. "Well I'm just trying to taste different cups of teas that may suit me." Lie. Grace crossed her fingers as she stared longingly into the kitchen. Earl Grey tasted disgusting. How she longed for the delicious bitter sweet taste of coffee enjoying it side by side with- "No." she whispered quietly to herself. She felt a tear escape the corner of her eye and she quickly swiped it away. "So Clare not answering the question!" A mischievous smile slowly pulled the corners of Kristle's face. That smile had never been seen for a long time,"It's probably the prom and her many available choices" Kristle took a sip of her coffee a Clarice felt herself clench her fist upon the thought and felt herself blush furiously. "Ok enough Kristle. Anyway it's my job to tease her." Clarice rolled her eyes an snorted loudly at Jessica. 

"Well Jess any love life so far?" Grace asked as she cast a glance at her best friend. Jessica ran her hand through her hair as she smiled brilliantly,"nope nothing at all." Kristle looked at her sister, eyes filled with concern before she continued to sip her coffee. "Well Kristle what about you?" Clarice returned back a mischievous grin as she stated her question. Kristle gulped down her coffee before she sighed,"same status. Except he's into another girl." "What?!" they chorused together. "He called me to ask for advice... So clearly he digs another girl." Jessica moved closer to her sister and patted her on the back. "Don't worry, he's just another boy. I'm sure all of us got friend zoned at some point." Kristle laughed fakely as she finished down her coffee in one gulp. Gosh it was difficult to think about it without feeling her heart rip into two. Clarice could not help but feel the slightest tired with so much confusion and decisions having to be made. With that she raised the volume of her song louder draining out the sounds that mixed in with the atmosphere. What is going to happen next?
