I woke to blackness. Then there was a loud groan. I looked up and saw a single line of light. Then I heard the breathing next to me. I reach my hand out and felt hair. It was smooth and soft.

“Who are you?’’ I whispered.

No reply. I shook their shoulder. No reply. There was another loud groan and I looked up. Only to be blinded by sunlight. I stood up and covered my eyes. I still couldn’t see but I knew the voices belonged to boys. I heard some of what they said.

“It’s a girl.” One said then their was a bunch of gasps.

‘’I call dibs.” One yelled.

The voices were then shushed by a boy with a very deep voice. I looked to the person on my right. She was a girl to.

“There are two girls down here.” I yelled looking up and was able to see the boys.

I saw two boys standing. Then around the box was a bunch of other boys.

“Is she dead?’’ A boy with blond hair and an accent asked.

“She’s not awake but is still breathing.” I yelled up looking at the girl next to me.

I looked back up to see two silhouettes jump down into the box. I backed up so they won’t land on or attack me. I backed up till my back in the back wall. The blond one who talked earlier stood in front of me and a boy with darker skin with hair cut close to his head stood behind him. The dark skinned boy was very muscular and very handsome.  The blond boy was cute to.

“Whoa. Were not going to hurt you. Just helpin’ you out of the box.” The blond boy said and put his hands in the air.

A rope dropped down from above and the dark skinned boy caught it.  The blond boy stood next to the girl on the floor and dark skinned boy held the rope out to me. I grabbed the rope and was pulled out of the box.

After I was pulled out of the box the two boys brought the girl up. She was still asleep. They laid her on the ground and I stood next to her. As we stood the group of boys looked at us.

I looked back down at the girl. All of a sudden she shot up and started yelling and waving her fist around.

“Everything is going to change! Everything is going to change! Everything is going to change!” She yelled repeatedly.

Then she flopped down on to the ground. She stuck her fist in the air and in it was a crumpled up piece of paper. I took the paper for her and handed it to the dark skinned boy. He took it and uncrumpled it.

“They are the last ones ever.” He said and looked around as if someone would explain to him what it meant.

He looked at me as if I would know what it meant. I shrugged my shoulders and he hand the paper the the blond boy next to him. The boy took it and looked it over.

“Med-jacks.” The dark skinned boy yelled.

Two boys stepped out of the crowd and walked forward. The dark skinned boy said something to them. The Med-jacks must be doctors. They picked the girl up and walked her to a building North of where we were standing.

“Welcome to the Glade. Names Alby.” He said holding his hand out.

“Ashton.” I said shaking his hand.

“Time for lunch.” He called.

The group departed and walked off. As they walked I tried to see if there was any other girls here. I didn’t see any. Are me and the other girl the only two here?

“You coming?” The blond boy ask.

“Yeah.” I said and followed him.

“Names Newt. I’m second in command here. Alby is the leader. You arrived late so tomorrow Alby will give you a tour of the place.”

“Ok.” I said and followed him into a building.

We got in line to get food. After I got mine I lost track of Newt so I walked to the table in the back and sat down. I looked around in this place seemed familiar. Like I’ve been here before. But I don’t remember ever being here.

“Hi. I’m Thomas may I sit with you.”

I look up and standing next to the table was a boy. He had black hair and I’m guessing is sixteen. He holds a tray of food and is smiling at me. He seemed familiar. But I don’t remember him.

“Sure.” I said.

“Thanks. This is my friend Chuck.” He said and they both sat down.

Newt had joined us and they began talking. I stared at my food. I had a sandwich and a glass of water. I don’t remember when I last ate but I’m not hungry. Just feel dizzy and a little sick. I sipped some water and continued looking around the room.

“Hey, Chuck do you want to have the rest of my sandwich?” I asked.

“Sure.” He said and I handed him my plate.

“Aren't you hungry?” Newt asked.

“No. I’m fine.”

My head started to pound and the room started to shift. I grabbed the edge of the bench. But the room continued to move in a circle. I stood up and during the process I knocked my glass of water off the table and it broke on the floor. I fell forward and was caught by someone. But I have no ideal who it was.

“Everything is going to change.” I said and then passed out.
