Never Gave Up (Alby Love Story)

Chapter 6 Ashton's P.O.V

I ran to Thomas and crouched down next to him. He was bleed from his collarbone. He laid on the ground on his back breathing hard. Blood dripped on to his shirt. My hands were shaking. I have no ideal why I’m freaking out so bad. Thomas is just my friend.

“Thomas you're bleeding! Are you ok?” I yelled and helped him sit up.

“I’m fine. I’m fine.” He said.

“Your bleeding! We have to get you to the med-jacks.” I said standing up and reached for him.

“Ashton I’m fine. Just calm down. I’m fine.” He said standing up.

His clothes were all dirty. Blood stained the collar of his shirt. He started to brush the dirt off the back of his pants. I helped him with his back. His wound was still bleeding and I don’t think I will be calm till it stops.

I heard footsteps coming or way. Ben groaned but didn’t move. Jeff and Clint came into the clearing. Jeff walked over to Ben and pulled the arrow out of his cheek. Ben made a weird noise and more blood seeped from the wound.

“Clint, Thomas is bleeding to.” I said and grabbed Thomas’ arm and pulled him towards Clint.

“I’m fine. Look Ashton it stopped bleeding.”

I looked and he was right it stopped bleeding. Clint still looked at it. I still couldn’t calm down. I was breathing heavily and my heart was pounding against my chest. I guess I must be scared for some reason.

“Thomas could you please escort Ashton out of the woods. Maybe even get her a glass of water.” Clint said walked over to help Jeff.

Thomas but his arm around my shoulders and walked towards the Glade. I control my breathing and my heart wasn’t pounding anymore. But I started to shake uncontrollably.

He pulled me closer to his side as we entered into the clearing. I was still shaking. Chuck walked over to us and stood next to me. He grabbed my arm and walked with us.

“Thomas what happened?” He asked.

“Ben attacked me. He also bi-”

“Not you you klunk head. What happened to Ashton?”

“I think she is in some sort of shock. Could you ran and get her a glass of water.”

“Yep. Be right back.”

Chuck that ran off towards the commons. Thomas stopped by a tree and made me sit. My shaking some what stopped. He began to rub my back. Chuck came back with the water and handed it to me. I took slow small sips. I then calmed down and leaned back against the tree.

“Thomas, Newt wants to talk to you. He’s in the commons.”

“Ok. Ashton are you ok?” Thomas asked.

“Yeah I’m fine.”

Thomas then got up and walked towards the commons. Chuck sat next to me and started talking. He told me that Alby called for a banishment tonight. He explained what it was and then we left to go eat dinner.

The runners had just got back a few minutes ago. All the Gladers stood by the opening of the West Door. Alby and Newt stood at the front. Newt was holding a long metal pole in his hand and the rest laid on the ground. At the end closest to him was a metal loop.

I stood next to Thomas and Chuck was on his other side. Newt told me that the were banishing Ben because he broke the second rule. Never attack another Glader, was the rule. I remember Alby telling it to me.

“The Keepers step forward please.” Alby said.

Alby had move to the far side of the pole and had picked it up. Newt was still standing at the other end. A small group of boys had stepped out of the crowd. The keepers. One leader for each of the jobs. Frypan was one, head of the cooks. Gally and Clint stood there to. Winston head of the Slicers and Zart head of the track Hoes, also stood there.
