You leaned over and rested your hands on your knees. Your necklace dangled down and you couldn't help but smile.

Ever since you were born, this little charm has been with you. Literally.

If your sign is a soulmate necklace, you're a rare exception of the whole 16 thing. Your charm is basically wrapped up in your little hand at birth. The hospital then puts it on a necklace for you. It's basically there for life.

Standing up you took a deep breath, ready to start running again when you felt a ball land near your feet.

Soon after, you heard the pattering feet of kids running up to you.

"Miss (Y/N), Miss (Y/N)!" A smile lit up your face as kids started hugging you and jumping up and down. You looked to where they came from and waved at all their parents.

"Hey guys. How's it going?" You squatted down so you could be closer to their height.

"Won't you play a game with us?"

You looked down at the soccer ball  beside you. Wouldn't hurt to join them, still working out technically.

"Sure," you picked up the soccer ball, "last one there is a rotten egg." You all took off running back to the spot on the beach where their parents were.

LA's beaches always had soccer games and such going on.

You deliberately came in last and laughed as some of the kids started to tease you.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm old. 19 is a big number you guys."

"Are our parents 19 too?" You looked down at Clarissa and smiled. All the kids were waiting for your answer.

The parents were too.

"Nope, they're 21. That's the best adult age. You'll learn why later."

Some of the parents laughed and the kids just shrugged.

"Okay so who's team am I on?"

Once teams were figured out, you started playing around with the little kids. You enjoyed kids and this was really a lot of fun to you.

After a half hour of messing around, you spotted some cameras. You laid in the sand, kids crawling over you and you laughing. But you couldn't ignore the cameras.

Suddenly your necklace got warm.

"Hey, wait you guys." You got up and scooped up Clarissa at the same time. Your necklace glinted in the sunlight and was flung around as you turned.

"Um I'm sure the kids will follow me but I'm just going for a little walk." The parents nodded, trusting you after all these years.

You turned to the left and it went cold. You turned to the right and it got warm again and you immediately started walking. You released you were getting close to the cameras and it spurred your curiosity even more.

People stopped and took pictures, you looked back and saw all the kids following you.

Smiling and shaking your head, you clung to Clarissa. More like she clung to you.

You kept walking until you got up to the cameras.

Everyone turned and looked at you but you were too busy looking for your charm.

"(Y/N) you necklace is hot."

You looked down to see the charm around your neck glowing red. It didn't burn you but I guess that's the crazy logic of this whole thing.

"Miss (Y/N)! I found someone who has a necklace like you. Look!" You glanced down at Beck and then to where the little boy was pointing.

Spotting a guy with brown hair and a snapback you paused.

Putting down Clarissa, she gladly went to hold your hand as the necklace was too hot for her. There was no reaction you could possibly think of, you were frozen.

Until Beck ran up to the stranger.

"Beck no!"

It was too late. Beck sent the camera crew and small group of people into a frenzy. You couldn't help but smile though as the other kids followed in suit. Even if you tried to stop them, you against 40 kids was not looking well.

"Kids! Just don't embarrass me okay?" You slowly walked over.

The man stood holding two kids and laughing loudly. It brought a smile to your face and made the other kids vy for his attention as well.

Soon six other boys appeared. As you approached, you saw him point to his necklace while talking to the others.

Your necklace meanwhile glowed brighter and swung freely around your neck. It started humming when you were at least a foot away.

Then finally, he looked your way.

The smile on his face dropped as he looked at you.

He didn't look confused. He looked thoughtful, surprised. Almost as if you weren't real. You were sure you looked the same as well. Matter of fact you did, albeit you looked more like a deer in headlights.

After just staring at each other, kids climbing over him and Clarissa pulling on your arm, he smiled.

Not the big smile he had earlier. But a smile that was small, genuine, emotional. You reciprocated that same smile. The moment felt so right, even with kids trying to crawl all over you.

That is, until a camera was shoved into your face. You blinked and your hand immediately flew to your necklace. The same time as one of his friend's covered his necklace.

You laughed shyly. "Hi."

He tore his gaze away from his friend and back to you.

"Hi!" Enthusiasm dripped in his voice and you burst out laughing as he blushed.

But soon the moment was ruined. The kids were taken away from the group of men, who had somehow each got a kid in their arms, and shoved back towards you.

It wasnt rude but you could tell they were in a frenzy.

You turned your back on them and grouped the kids together.

"If you guys all go back to your parents now, I'll play freeze tag with you tomorrow," the kids slowly started towards their parents, "and I'll buy you popsicles." They took off down the beach, each kid sprinting to their own parents.

Just as you were about to leave, something made you turn back. Your soulmate stood staring at you.

Without any forewarning, you ran up and hug him. You crashed into him and wrapped your arms around his neck. His instinctively wrapped around your waist so you wouldn't fall.

Everything about this felt right to you. It felt right for him too. He couldn't help but take in your scent, not even caring if you were sweaty.

It's not like the moment lasted long. You hugged him and as soon as you realised what you did, you pulled away.

"Bye."

Someone screamed at him in Korean. You didn't even notice his group had left.

He grabbed your hand as you turned away.

"Bye."

You smiled.

The last thing you saw before he ran off was the back of his jersey.
J-Hope was spelled out on the back.

After watching him for a few seconds, you ran back towards everyone on the beach.

Not even realising that he had just turned to watch you leave.

Or realising you wouldn't see him again for a long time.
