Even with that mask made of fabric,
I will still know that your expression is panic.
With mystery hiding your porcelain skin,
I will still recognize you with a grin.
And now,
we shall begin.

The lousy oxygen that filled my lungs made me cough my guts out. The air was nauseatingly stuffy and smelled of old gas. There wasn't any trees or plants to be found which probably was the reason that the air quality was so damn poor.

It was unusual, since Seraph was known to be a forested country but I just felt as if I was in a Desert; staring at the dehydrated dirt beneath my feet.

I turned my head over to Yoichi who was busying himself with kicking a rock. He looked to be deep in thought, as if he was recalling the principles of life or preparing for his death. "Hey, Yoichi?" I called out.

His attention ditched the rock's as he raised an eyebrow and replied, "Yeah?" Yoichi still looked dazed, even though his eyes were boring into mine.

The empty look in those glassy eyes made something click inside of me. I wanted to fill them with love, although I was sadly incapable.

"I have a knife in the waistband of my jeans. Mind fetching it for me? If I'm handcuffed while entering the badlands, I might as well find myself a suitable rock to craft into a tombstone."
