I was inspired by this line "A miracle made of honey and death." From: The Inquisition Your by: Jen Currin

He lied there.
Bones became fractured jewels
lying in a sand of blood.
And Death, who was decked
out in colours, walked closer
to him; each step left a trail
of dead grass footprints.

Death knelt and placed
her hand on his chest.
She whispered in his ear.

"I'm giving you a second chance
to make things right,
don't forget that,
but if you do,
even for a moment
I will be the one that stops
your heart." And in a blink, bones
became whole and new air
was collected in lungs,
but the spot where his heart
once was, was now home to a hole.

His heart sat in a honey coloured box
on a bookcase next
to other boxes full of hearts
of the people she saved.

He was a miracle glued
together by Death's honey.
