*** I apologize again :)

_______________

Warlock held tightly onto Ira while Inferno sat in the corner with his arms wrapped around his legs. Morph stood off to the side trying his hardest to hold back his emotions. Ira was a mess; tears stained his cheeks as he clutched at his chest. Polaris paced back and forth, trying to avoid letting his gaze drop on his friends. He knew that if he looked at them, he'd follow their suit. Tears threatened to escape from his eyes as he looked over at Byeongkwan who was working hard with his ability.

Angel was in the next room, speaking with Doc and Frenzy who were trying to figure out what they were going to do next. The rest of the mutants were used to Polaris or Reaper taking charge in situations, but with Polaris' mind in a scramble and Reaper MIA, Angel found himself taking charge along with Doc and Frenzy.

Though it was easy for Angel and Doc to take control, Frenzy found himself questioning whether he was cutout for it. Sure, he could manipulate people's minds, but that was nothing compared to what Angel and Doc could do. At least, that's what he kept telling himself. Angel, on the other hand, he kept watching Frenzy, wondering why he was keeping himself closed off from the conversation. Out of all the mutants in their makeshift home, Angel believed that Frenzy was the most cutout to be in charge. He had a take-charge attitude and seemed confident in everything he did.

"What do we do next?" Angel asked, taking in a deep breath as he collapsed into one of the chairs in the room.

"I think our first step of action is to get out of this warehouse. We only have a day left unless we all want to die," Doc coldly exclaimed.

"What about Reaper?"

Frenzy wondered if he should stay silent, but something else seemed more important. "What about Psylocke?"

Angel grew silent as he thought about what Frenzy just said. Reaper had almost completely taken Psylocke's head off his body. If Morph hadn't used his new-found ability to shove reaper away, Psylocke would have been lying in the grass in a pool of blood. Byeongkwan quickly exclaimed that he might be able to save him as the other mutants rushed into a panic.

Everyone moved back into the warehouse in hopes of saving Psylocke, all except for Reaper. Reaper had quickly left the property, disappearing before anyone could stop him. When he finally stopped trying to run away, he ended up at a lake he didn't know was there. As he watched the still water he began to cry. He couldn't believe what he had done. It was only when Morph had shoved him away that he realized what he was doing to Psylocke.

To Psylocke, of all people.

Tears slid down his cheeks as he collapsed to his knees at the edge of the lake. After letting out a loud scream he stood up, wiped his tears away, and decided to go for it. Slowly he took a step forward, and then another, until the lake water was up to his knees. A few more steps and the water reached his waist. It was cold, but he didn't care.

His chin quivered as he went further into the water. A loud cry escaped from his lips when the water reached his chest. His body was shivering but he ignored it as he went deeper. Using his abilities, he weighed his feet down, allowing his head to becoming submerged under water. Eventually he was in the middle of the lake, struggling to survive as the water started to slip passed his lips and fill his lungs.

Then, suddenly, it began to burn. His muscles tightened as his started to struggle. His mouth opened wide and water quickly took the place of oxygen. In a matter of minutes his body began to spasm. It wasn't the worst pain he'd ever felt but it wasn't a good feeling, that he was sure about. The more pain he found himself in the darker his world became. Darkness started to fill the edges of his sight as his body moved in full spasms.

Then it happened.

His heart stopped, and he stopped moving. His eyes blankly stared through the lake water. Limbs twitched as the life left his eyes. However, back at the warehouse, no one was aware of what was happening. Instead, everyone was working quickly to pack what they needed to leave before the humans made their move. Split was standing at the entrance of the warehouse with the keys to a bus he had stolen, though no one was sure when he had time for it.

"Come on, everyone get on quickly. We only have so much time," he exclaimed out of frustration.

Half the mutants seemed to move quickly, worried about what was going to happen if they took any longer than they already were. The other half, well, they were moving slower than Split had ever seen anyone move. Even following behind them telling them to hurry did nothing.

"Won't the bus be a little obvious?" Rogue asked as he started putting everyone's belongings in the hidden compartments on the side of the bus.

"No. I talked to Fortis and he thinks he'll be able to put a force-field around the bus to make it invisible. We'll just have to be careful not to crash into anything."

"If there's a forcefield, how would we crash?" Pyro asked, appearing out of nowhere.

Split glared at him as he motioned for him to get on the bus. Once everyone started to get on the bus, they all grew silent. Morph walked out of the warehouse with Psylocke on his back. Byeongkwan had used enough of his ability to bring Psylocke back to life but it was going to take a lot more to make him fully healed. He was going to have to work almost every hour for the next three days if he wanted to make Psylocke back to his original health. Of course, the other mutants stayed silent as Morph walked past them. No one knew what to say, not when there weren't enough words to make the situation better.

Polaris slowly got on the bus, following behind Joy, and the last mutant to get on the bus. As the door closed behind him, he looked at Stone who was in the driver's seat. He thought about Reaper one last time, just as the others had and with sadness in his voice he said, "Let's get out of here."
