“Hey! You’re here already!” mom called after seeing me enter the front door.
I slammed myself on the sofa and put my feet above the center table.
“How was the check-up? May lumala ba or what? You look so exhausted.” she placed a glass of water on the table and sit beside me.
“It was a long day mom but my health is okay. I’ll just take the medicine always and don’t overstress.”
“That’s good to hear. How was the day?”
“Uh, speaking. Alam mo kanina mom, si Dave natulak nung bodyguard nung intern niya. He interfere kasi.”
“Ano? Bakit?”
“Kasi, may mga bodyguards na dumating kanina sa kinainan namin and they are going to get that Dave’s intern but the girl refused and ask for more minute so that they can finish their food first but they harassingly pull her out at the resto.”
“And?”
“And Dave tried to help but it’s no use. He hit his head on the table.”
“Aww. That was too cruel.”
“It’s his fault anyway. Alam naman niyang hindi niya kaya and he is no help to that guys but still insisted. Sinabihan ko ng just continue eating pero hindi siya nakinig.”
“Ikaw talaga. He’s just trying to help.”
“Uh. Whatever.”
“By the way Gail, your kuya called and it was about the petition, it was ready na daw.” what? THE PETITION? I thought ---
“Po?”
“How about Dave, Gail? Have you told him about this?”
It was the petition from my brother bago pa kami ma-engage ni Dave. Hindi naman kasi ganoon kadali mag-petition sa isang tao. It takes 2 years bago maging ready. Akala ko nga hindi na matutuloy ‘cause it’s almost three years na.
Hindi alam ni Dave ‘to kasi nga akala ko hindi na matutuloy.
“Call your kuya if you want to ask something.” she patted my arm and tumayo na at umakyat na upstairs.
How am I gonna tell Dave?
It was my great dream na makapunta na sa Canada and work there.
It’ll be excellent kung doon ako kukuha ng master’s degree ko.
Pero paano si Dave?? How am I gonna deal this problem?
Pag nalaman ‘to ni Dave siguradong magagalit yun, o di kaya’y magtatampo, baka hiwalayan ako nu’n.
Pero pwede ko rin naman siyang petitionan diba? So he can work as a nurse there also.
Pero paano ‘to?
I shrugged so the negative thoughts can leave my mind.
Yes, right, I will just tell him na I will petition him and so our marriage will come soon!
Yeah, that’ll be a great idea, so I can say or para maintindihan niya na kailangan na naming magpakasal para even if we’re away, we are secured by our relationship, and para mapadali ang petition ‘cause he is my husband!
So nice to hear that I’m calling him husband.
Pero ko munang ipaalam. I’ll consult kuya first.
