Dreamcatcher

There was a dreamcatcher that always hung above her bed

It always stayed right there hovering over her head

It swayed in the night breeze

Stars glistening in the sky like her beautiful blue eyes

Begging a please to fall like her into a deep sleep

Like a dog chasing dreams of bones

The girl ran and ran until too tired became her own

The dreams are nightmares

Her heart is pounding and you can hear it like a drum

Watch how she fares in a deep woods sounds a deep threatening hum

Cracking branches, falling trees, she can’t breathe

The monsters come

All is gone

She wakes with a scream

She’s finally out of the dream

She will live it again

The dream catcher has fallen

It’s done all that it can

It’s only just began

The End
