J's POV

Walking down the hallway with the heavy atmosphere seems like walking in a room of saints. All eyes on me bearing with curious glares and murmurs. The death body seems disturbing them but my arrival makes them even more bothered. Seeing the lying dead body covered with blood brings back the memories of my normal life back then.

*Flashback*

It's a boring and cold Sunday morning. I woke up for a morning walk, since it's only 6 in the morning and it's Sunday, restaurants are closed, except one. The Silver Coin Café, one of my favourite places to stay here in Caloocan. They're opening early since they serve breakfast.

As I entered the café, the staffs are still preparing, but they warmly greeted me. "Good Morning, Welcome Sir, This way sir." Since I'm a regular customer here, they know where my favourite spot is. One the staff takes my order. But before I tell my order, they already knew what it was. "One matcha latte and one dark chocolate mousse cake, am I correct sir." Yes, the soothing and relaxing matcha latte with the heavenly and luscious taste of smooth dark chocolate mousse cake can make my day really good. As I was about to enjoy my mouth watering breakfast. I heard a loud scream from the kitchen, so I ran immediately, a waitress looked shocked while pointing at the walk in freezer. (Note: walk in freezers are like a room sized freezer, where they keep frozen stuff, most of the kitchen, and hotels have walk in freezers.) When I checked the freezer, there was a dead man lying on the floor, with boxes scattered over him, and a frozen blood on the floor, I told the staff to call the police. When the police arrived, I saw a familiar face entered the café, a family friend, it was Inspector Garcia. Since my late grandfather was a lawyer, he helped Inspector Garcia with most of the cases. When he saw me, his eyes are wondering why am I here. "Oh, ijo!ikaw ba yan? Ang laki mo na ah, huli kitang nakita uhugin ka pa. Pero teka, bakit ka nandito ng ganito kaagang oras?" then I answered what happened. The police told the inspector who was the dead body that have been found on the freezer. It was Tom Martinez, a cook worked closing shift last night. They started to interview every staff in the restaurant, since I'm the only customer and its Sunday, konti lang ang staff na naka duty sa morning shift, 1 waitress at 1 cook at yung manager nila, dahil slow or konting customer lang ang kumakain ng ganito kaaga.
And these are their statements.
Rachel (Waitress): "pumasok po ako sa walk in freezer para icheck kung may stock pa ng ice cream, pag pasok ko nakita ko po yung mga kahon na naka kalat sa sahig, sa una inisip ko na di inayos ng closing shift yung freezer bago sila umuwi kagabi, pero napansin ko na may parang dugo sa sahig na nagyeyelo, at nakita ko nga po si Tom na nakahandusay sa sahig, at napasigaw ako. Pagkatapos po, biglang lumapit yung highschool student na regular customer namin, at sinabi na tumawag ako ng pulis."

Michae (Cook)l: "Closing shift din po ako kagabi kasama ni Tom kagabi, dahil unusual na wala masyadong customer kagabi, naglinis na lang kami ng kitchen, pero nung bandang mga 10pm na which is closing time na, sabi ko sa kanya na out na kami dahil maaga pa ang pasok ko kinabukasan, pero sabi nya una na daw kami ni Rachel, sya na daw magsasara ng café, dahil inoorganize pa nya yung laman ng freezer dahil may delivery kahapon ng umaga, so 10pm nauna na umuwi sa kanya, di ko ineexpect na mangyayari to."

Marlon (Manager): "It was my day off yesterday, and di ko alam kung ano ang nangyari, nasa bahay lang ako kasama ng pamilya ko."

Now this is where my boring Sunday morning becomes excited, another case to solve. Before I jump into a conclusion I once again investigate the freezer. There are no cameras inside the freezer nor in the kitchen. When I checked the footage from the CCTV from the backdoor and the main entrance, there's nothing suspicious happened. The freezer's temperature is normal it's -10 degrees Fahrenheit. The box were scattered, Tom's head above his left ear has severe concussion, the floor has a frozen blood, the forensics are having a hard time determining the time of death since the body is so cold and stiff and almost frozen, to know it's rigor mortis, but I think that Tom died around 10:30PM-12MN, because he was still alive at 10pm, and if it is a murder, Rachel and Michael will notice if someone suspicious entered the café, but if it happened later than 12MN, the body wouldn't be as stiff and almost frozen as that. As I was walking, bigla akong napaupo , since walk in freezer nga, everything is frozen and madaming ice sa sahig. May nakita din akong scratch marks sa yelo sa sahig. I have all the details, and now all I have to do is reveal my deduction. Was it a murder or just an accident? If it was a murder, then who killed Tom? And how? And it was an accident? How did he die? Kaya lumapit na ako kay Inspector Garcia at sinabi ko na ang aking deduction.

"Alam mo na kung ano ang totoong nangyari?" then I finally reveal everyone my deduction. It was ____________. Now what really happened is this, ____________________. It was an easy case, so after my deduction, nagpaalam na ako kay Inspector Garcia. "Alis na po ako, baka hinahanap na ako nila daddy."
"Sige ijo, salamat sa pagtulong sa case na ito, ikamusta mo ako kela doktora."

Before I forgot, My name is Jerlock Pascual, dahil favorite ng parents ko si Sherlock Holmes pinangalanan akong ka rhyme ng name nya. And my parents always give me a mystery to solve since I was a kid. So naging interested and somehow involved na din ako sa pagsolve ng iba't ibang cases. And since my mom is a doctor, may alam din ako kahit konti about medical terms, so it helps me a lot in my investigations. I'm just 18 years old and a grade 11 student. Studying at Caloocan Eastern High School. Kaya siguro ang tawag ng ibang classmates ko sa akin ay Detective of the East, hehehe. Simple lang naman gusto ko. Mag luto, kumain at mag solve ng mga cases, kaya nga Home Economics 1 ang Strand ko.
Siguro nga my name is like Sherlock, but we're a different person, I like socializing and talking to people and I'm a cheerful person. But one thing we have in common is, our love in solving crimes, cases or mysteries. When solving cases sometimes I use a codename, and my codename is Shin, siguro naman nafigure out nyo na kung bakit yun ang codename ko. And I think my observation skills are good, attention to details. However I have this weakness, I'm not good with codes and ciphers. I can but I'm really not good at it.

Oops!!! mukhang di ko lang ata story to ah. Hmm let's just figure out what will happen.

Tanghali na nang makauwi ako ng bahay. Nakita ako ni mommy pag pasok ko ng bahay habang siya naman ay papasok na sa work. At sabi nya sa akin, "anak may gagawin ka ba ngayong araw?" sabi ko naman, wala po. "Sumama ka na lang sa akin sa ospital sa work ko, since wala ang daddy mo, nasa seminar sa baguio, sa Wednesday pa uwi niya." So sumama na ako kay mommy sa work niya.

*END OF FLASHBACK *

And the rest is history until one day, everything that happened in my life is as though a blink of an eye. I don't know but something happened that change my personality, made change in my life events and a big change in my life.

And that event led me upon this institution, led me to know KEE and knowing KEE is an interesting yet dangerous thing.

The bloody scene in front of me is just an accident but a welcoming case of this month, a bloody murder.

[Answer: it was just an accident. Now what really happened is this, while Tom was organizing the boxes in the freezer, he slipped from the ice on the floor and hit his head hard, and the boxes fell on him, the scratch marks on the floor was a sign that after he slipped he was barely conscious that he tried to get up. He died from blood loss and hypothermia.]
