"Eorum effectus potest differunt"

-Their effects can differ-

~~

Monday's suck.

It was the only sentence your tired mind could form as you stood there, leant against your assigned locker, waiting for the bell to ring.

Your eyes wandered over the mass of students, arms loosely crossed, body tense, searching for seven distinctive faces. Or more accurately, searching for them in hopes that they weren't here.

After whatever had happened on Saturday evening, you'd woken up fully dressed on Sunday morning, lying on your bed. Your body felt stiff and irresponsive and your mind was fuzzy and numb as you got up, taking a few minutes to comprehend what had happened.

Creepily, the window that had been opened by someone else was shut when you walked into the bathroom that morning.

The house bore no signs of being broken into; there was no trace of anyone ever even being inside. You'd checked every room, but nothing. Physically, as you'd sensed it last night, they had not been there.

It was confusing to you. How did they do it? And why hadn't you discovered any similar abilities for yourself yet?

Because it was very clear that they were like you and that you had the same powers with different effects. You'd spent the whole day yesterday analysing the situation and piecing all the obvious pieces together, still only understanding parts of the entire story.

Your thoughts were interrupted as the bell rang, signalling you and the other students to head to your classrooms. Glancing over the mass one last time, but still seeing none of them, you turned and walked along the hallway towards your first lesson.

Entering the classroom, you saw the teacher look up to see you, face stiffening. You were too deep in thought to care about whatever effect you had this time, so you simply walked up to him to introduce yourself politely.

"Right, stay here with me until the lesson starts, Miss Lee", he averted your eyes, pretending to search for something on his desk. Students were still walking into the classroom and you looked towards the clock, watching as the seconds ticked away.

While you waited, you listened to the whispers erupting around you as people became more aware of you standing there. You could almost feel your aura settle over the classroom, hushed murmurs and short glances about or directed at you gradually increasing as the minutes passed.

You smiled to yourself. It was the same predictable event that happened each time.

At exactly seven fifty-five am, just as the teacher stood up and demanded for silence, the door burst open one last time. In walked two of the boys, the one with black, and the other with the blond and brown stranded hair.

You immediately tensed up, gaze following them as they apologized to the teacher and walked to the back, sitting down at their desks. Senses tingling, you noticed the sudden shift in the other student's moods, girls suddenly sitting up straighter, boys falling silent.

None of them seemed to care properly about your presence anymore and the feeling you had started to give off was fading away. Not completely leaving, no - just fading, staying in the background as different sensations took over.

The teacher cleared his throat, gesturing towards you. "Everyone, this is Miss Lee Iseul. She just moved here and will be a part of this class from today forward. Please welcome her... warmly".
