"Odio et Metus dabo tibi potestatem"

-Hatred and Fear give you power-

~~

You'd always hated mornings.

The sunrise, sure. You loved watching that, the red of the sun spilling over the horizon, colouring the sky lilac, pink and golden, but what came after just simply wasn't worth it in your opinion.

Because with the morning came responsibilities, new tasks and the on your part forced interaction with others. You'd much rather wait for the evening and go out into the night, but being a senior at high-school and sadly a part of society, that wasn't an option.

That didn't change with you now living alone. However, you were lucky enough for it to be Saturday, so even if you needed to go out and get things done, you weren't forced to wake up at all too ungodly hours.

But as your alarm shrilled loudly, cutting through your more or less peaceful sleep, you wanted nothing more than to take your phone and smash it repeatedly against a wall. Groaning, you opened one eye just about to see the time sprawled across the display.

9:16. Time to get up and face whatever new life you could start here. Alone, and without the pressure of the orphanage staff and authorities convinced you were some sort of edgy, troublesome, drug addicted teen.

Rolling over and throwing the covers off your body, you lay there for a few seconds before pushing yourself up and padding over into the bathroom. A hot shower and a few minutes later you walked back in, drying off your wet hair with a towel.

A very sleepy, wet you stared back from the mirror, long black locks dripping water down your collar bones and torso. Sighing, you went over to the dresser and pulled out some clothes.

It was weird living alone. No children's shouts, no early fights, no giggling from downstairs, accompanied by the smell of breakfast. It was peaceful, and entirely your own domain.

You relished in it. Even if it had been nice to already have food lain out, you could now finally decide if and what you wanted to eat, and you didn't have to wait for hours until the bathroom was free.

Remembering you needed groceries anyway, you took your keys and wallet from the counter, deciding to go out into town. Before leaving, you made sure to lock the door twice.

A feel of insecurity in this new territory made you think it was necessary.

As you walked, passing by houses and smaller shops, drawing closer to the centre, you noticed that it was relatively calm for a Saturday morning. Having been raised in a town similar to this one, it surprised you not to see the early morning shoppers and joggers on their way.

Maybe it just was too early, and there were only souls like you that lived here, ones that hated getting up at any time of the day.

Entering one of the convenience stores, you were about to grab a basket and start walking along the aisles as you phone beeped muffled, alerting you of something. Eyebrows furrowed, you pulled it of your pocket.

Your eyes went wide as you saw the reminder on the screen.

Oh fuuu-dge, the meeting with the student councillor at the school!

Dropping the basket, you turned and hightailed out of the store, racing down the street. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you ran towards the large grey building, mentally scolding yourself for almost forgetting.

You reached the school a little out of breath, striding up to the front doors quickly and haphazardly trying to brush your hair back. If you wanted some sort of new start, you needed to make a good impression.

Although, what would proper appearance matter when your presence made people feel such other things?

It was a little weird to see a school so empty and quiet, but it was in an odd way satisfying to hear your steps echo off the floor and walls. After orientating yourself for a second, you headed towards the secretary's office.

A woman in her mid-thirties sat inside, looking up as you entered. Immediately, after just seeing you there, her pupils dilated a little and she visibly gulped. You had to bite your bottom lip to stop yourself from smirking at the fast effect you had on her, and smiled politely, entering.

"Good day", you bowed your head respectfully to the older woman, trying your hardest to oppress the feelings of guilty pleasure you got from scaring her, "My name is Lee Iseul, I should be enrolling in the last year on Monday and have a meeting with the students councillor this morning".

She nodded wearily, reaching for some papers on the side. You noticed her not looking away from you, always keeping you in the corner of her eye, but never properly looking you in the face.

You're not the only one.

"Doctor Choi is down the hall, the door to the right", she informed you stiffly, though you could hear a little fear leak through her words, handing you a student's pass, "He'll be waiting for you".

You smiled and thanked her, letting a sadistic grin creep onto your face as you turned away. It was so amusing to you, seeing the effects you had.

Knocking on the councillors door, you waited for a male's voice to call you to enter. A tired looking, middle aged man sat at a table, opposite of the door, lifting his head from a file as you walked in. Taking one glance at you, his eyes narrowed behind the glasses resting on the bridge of his nose.

Ah, the second type of people. The ones that showed anger rather than fear towards you and your aura.

Forcing another polite smile over the grin threatening to form again, you bowed and introduced yourself formally. Or tried to.

"Yes, yes, Miss Lee, sit down", he interrupted your speech, waving his hand impatiently, "I do not have all day and want to get this over with as quickly as possible".

Other people would have thought this was rude, but you were used to it. It was just another thing that came with involuntarily making people feel hate and wrath.

Sitting down on the chair, you tilted your head, waiting for him to begin speaking. Councillor Choi gave you a long hard glance before shuffling with the file before him, jaw clearly clenched.

All what came after was him reading off your personal data and asking you questions, all the while eying you apprehensively. You stayed as respectful as you could; swallowing grins and smirks at the obvious loathing in his face towards you.

Finally he smacked your student file shut and pronounced you free to leave, quite as if you were some sort of criminal. He also handed you your schedule and gave a curt glare before gritting out words of goodbye from between his teeth.

You wanted to laugh as you left, turning down the corner to exit, but you halted in your tracks abruptly seeing a group of people in the hallway.

A group of seven guys, all turning simultaneously to stare right at you.

Feelings of unexplained rage, but at the same time, lustful excitement washed over you as you stared back, breathing cut short as you noticed something.

Their eyes.

They were like yours.
