"Omnes erit spelunca aliquando"
-All will cave someday-
~~
In retrospect, it was most certainly Hoseok who started it.
Even if he wasn't the one currently edging you towards the brink of insanity, you knew he was the one who had first initated the torturous game they'd been playing with you all day long. It was his sly smirk and hand brushing your arm that had led to this moment, to you sitting here and avoiding Taehyung's burning gaze.
It was the last lesson of the day, the clock reading 03:07 pm. You had another twenty-three minutes of being tensed up and unable to focus on anything else. Trying desperately by now to shut out every other feeling, to not give into the same weakness that Seokjin had evoked in you.
The ebony haired eldest was also present, a couple of seats away from you. He was bent over his textbook, seemingly working. But you noticed how his eyes shifted to watch you every few seconds, a feather-light and very satisfied smile on his face at your strained expression.
His little plan of making you wait worked like a charm, that you had to admit. The tension had not eased up the slightest bit since your dramatic scene, on the contrary. It had only gotten heavier and harder to abide, impossible to block out any longer.
The teacher was sitting at her desk, just as unable to ignore the emotional intensity in the room as the students. Taehyung's passionate semblance, Seokjin's ethereality and your vengeful nature were fighting for dominance and conflicting, messing with the atmosphere.
Taking a deep breath, you continued to observe what was happening. The teacher was watching over the students, her eyes always evading the three of you. Her fingers were drumming mechanically on the desk, clearly trying to distract herself from what she was feeling.
The students worked in silence, partially more affected the closer they sat. To Taehyung's right, a brunet boy didn't seem to be able to stop biting his already bleeding lip, and behind Seokjin sat a girl that couldn't take her eyes off the back of his head. Everyone around you had shuffled as far away as possible.
You three, however, were playing a silent game of your own. You'd long figured out how they operated, playing on each others strengths and your weakness. Now you just had to find a way to beat them.
They were potentially lethal together. Seokjin's demenour was dominant, you could sense he was in complete control and had himself in check. Taehyung was a practical opposite, a rough, untamed feel that showed in his mannerisms and behaviour. Authority was still there, but in a more playful way than with Seokjin, who had every action seemingly planned.
And even though you had always been a very controlling person, in charge as well as you could, their different types of dominance was something that clearly captivated you. You were quite sure that your responses to Seokjin's actions earlier had confirmed that for them, and you resented yourself for giving them such an easy target.
Fiddling with the pen between your fingers, you stared down at the book before you. The words swam before your eyes, unable to concentrate on the sentences and paragraphs. You grit your teeth as you caught Taehyung biting his lip self satisfied.
He'd been winding you up even more than Seokjin. He somehow managed to subtly drive you insane, knowing exactly what his mere movements were doing to you. It was equal parts unnerving and fascinating, how easily he could get under your skin with no words being spoken.
You shot him a glare, gripping the end of the pen tighter. Taehyung smiled smugly, mouthing something at you with his eyebrows raised in an amused way.
